Thumbs up Project Reality BF2 Nov 14 2006

Project Reality

After yesterdays CO experience on the server, I decided to focus more on squads (way way more fun)

I was in the

Blonde Belgium Bomber’s squad (1) a.k.a. BigGayAl’s Defense squad.

The map was Zhanjiang Security Area.

A lot of fun. I question why a 64 player map comes after a 16 player map that starts the map roations. What’s the deal?

We had to move a lot to be functional.

The squad was really tight,

I need to work on not interrupting the SL when a bird (animal) flies by or something that is not heavy.

Had some fun with my favorite kit, the Anti-Personnel Rifleman. The four claymores are nice. Good blast and splash. Two frags are sweet also.

We were defending like three flags at once and the one I had C4 on turned white. I and Old_Smoke_Pipe (I believe) a.k.a., The Immortal, went over to engage the enemy. After blowing the claymores I ran over and stayed low to dodge the 50 cal fire from H jeep.
I see the enemy behind the flag sandbags. I through my frags and then I hear the heavy jeep blow. After this I flank around quickly and we get the flag up with G.I. bodies all over the place. Amazing!!!
Do not know how the Jeep blew. My frags were not in range.

I actually lost the game for the team!!
I request to spawn at the Corp base to defend the flag so we could keep bleed, but when I got there I was taking fire and wounded, then slain, but I hurt the enemy warrior badly.

After the flag went white, we lost bleed (no one was bleeding).

My kill death ration was positive and I had most flag cap assists (6) and finished in the top four (played Spec Ops and A.P.R kit.

Sadly, the Corp survived the furious battle (6-0) and the POWs were released.

Next were the Wetlands. I had some fun with the engineer kit and the big’ol C4.

Note: The engineer can place up to 8 mines down if they are reloaded with ammo.

Blasted Sea Hawk came at the Gas Station. The blast wounded it and took out one or two guys. Mean while the rest of the team is trying to get our MEC base back.

It did this at Central flag also, however, I was out manned and out gunned. Of course they got the gunship after that.

We had bleed them really well so the win looked good but the server crashed.

On a sad note, I cannot load EJOD Desert 32 player map. Not online or on my computer. Any thoughts?

In conclusion, Belgium’s rule.

Many thanks to coleslaw and the others in the squad.

Re: Project Reality BF2 Nov 14 2006

Some good rounds there. I was amazed to see a whole squad new except rick here respond so well. On the smaller maps we used fireteams and the new peeps did exactly what I asked them.

Rick had pretty good results defending flags solo; he would lay in ambush with the claymores and if possible the rest of the squad would come to support if needed. As in risk, you want to have at least one soldier to defend a flag.

This leads me to the conclusion that a one man ambush can be a lot more effective on PR, if he is concealed well enough.

I also played some great rounds with the in John C's squad, for which I am thankful; its pretty intensive to lead a squad with new peeps. The new maps also require alot of thought to come up with new strats.

-The little bird; please keep loading it up all the way to then fly around over the map. I'ts great target practice, and I love to see people being shot off.

Last round after ticket adjustment by ash was also good fun. With Calvin , Ash , Slayer, Have a nice day and Tookie we managed to seal of the choke point on the very narrow desert/city map for the whole round. At first we were bleeding, but whe the other squad finally grabbed the central flag, control was ours. It's a very good strategy to have on squad make sure no one gets trough to the back flags. You only have to defend an area of 100 meters wide, three streets.

PS: very funny Rick, although I'm not really blonde, the nick can stay .

The little bird is really being used wrong (technically it shouldnt even be used, considering its not used by the Marines). It does not have the armor to be used in a hot LZ as a transport helo, thats what the seahawk is for. The little bird is for covert missions where you are making an insertion without the enemy being aware or minimal resistance is expected. So these pilots flying directly over combat zones and/or trying to land the Little birds while under fire are just being stupid and costing the team tickets. The LBs are fast enough where you arent killing yourself by flying low and along the edges of the map.
