This game might be it!

Ever since Ghost Recon, I have searched and searched for a game that would offer me intense, realistic co-op military action. I think this game might actually offer a fresh wave of hope to those of us that were never able to recapture the excitement we had, sneaking around cover to cover, relaying enemy positions, and making the enemy pay dearly during first contact...

Add to this, there are ground and air vehicles to suit those players that don't enjoy the infantry role. If you can think of it, it can be done in ArmA...

The screenshot thread over at the official forums is really starting to heat up.

Low Light Insert

Sabotage Completed!

We've Lost Radio Contact With Murphy!

Captured While On Border Guard Duty

Is It Real Or Is It ArmA?

Re: This game might be it!

Greetings en4rcement.

I look forward to the game and working with you and others on missions.

I predict a good following here at TG.

After PR came out, I have payed little attention to the game, but will commit to it fully when it arives.

I already have my name picked out.

I am well known for my sick awsome tech skills in the community.

Re: This game might be it!

Armed Assault is much more than a game, it is the best war simulation of our times. All those little details (free head movement, ability to see your body in first person view, animations [sit, salute, patrol, etc]) and a huge island to fight over on land, sea and in the air... During day and night...

This is THE one to admire and get addicted to

Re: This game might be it!

It's quite an update to an already full featured and beautiful game. One of the few games I can think of that has view distances measured in km instead of metres.

This is Operation Flashpoint with the DX DLL mod.

Re: This game might be it!

"Might" be it? It's the follow-up to Flashpoint, and for those of you that aren't in the know... Flashpoint is it.

If you need some actual hard proof, scroll down to the two red "RECOMMENDED" pieces of text on this page and download the full-length videos they reference.
http://dslyecxi.com/shacktac.html

Later this week I should have some footage from an ambush scenario we played this past Saturday... it was a force-on-force encounter where a 25-man squad had to patrol a given area, with an 8-man guerrilla team trying to disrupt/kill them. It lasted well over an hour and was some of the most realistic and intense combat I've ever had in a game. The amount of lead that was slung around during the firefights had to be seen to be believed.

Re: This game might be it!

After watching some of your videos, this is the type of teamwork gameplay I really want to experience with ArmA. I've had a couple of moments like this in some games of OFP I've played in the past, but I could never find a group who consistently played this way. I really hope enough TG members get ArmA and we can get some coordinated games like this.

Re: This game might be it!

Hey Dslyecxi,

I watched one of those videos of the guerilla force attacking the convoy. Awesome stuff! It was picture in picture with two audios...Left audio was the convoy comms and right audio was the guerillas.

I never really considered how many possibilities this opens up for MP modes. Can you imagine the old Badger (reference is for long time TG members) hunting a spec ops team on these huge maps?

I guess we can change the title of this thread...this game IS going to be it!!!
