New to BF2

I posted over in the Battlefield 2 section about wanting to experience some team play. Will anyone be playing the Tactical Mod tonight? If so can I jump in?

Hey there,

Welcome to the Irregs forum. I know this reply is late coming but hopefully you found your way into a TacMod game tonight.

If you're looking for team play then TG is the right place to be, and you can get some quality teamplay any night.

When you join one of the games, look for any squad that has some TG'ers in it, especially ones where the squad leader is a TG member. Join that squad, let the SL know you've joined, and ask him what he needs you to do.

Tac mod or PRM never got off the ground tonight...not sure why...we've had some good turnouts in recent weeks but maybe the holiday has put a damper on it. As I said in another post try out our POE2 server and keep checking back for TAC MOD on Sunday and PRM on Thursdays...With 2142, Poe2 and PRM all vying for players the TG community does get a bit thin at the moment...but we're here and you'll hook up with some great players I'm sure.

Welcome to the Irregs forum! You should definitely check out PoE2 mod for BF2, they usually have a solid core going over there. Thursday and Sunday's were the normal Tacmod nights, so definitely check the general forum and here to see what's going on. PRM has received a good bump lately as many of the more "sim" based players have been very happy with the way it works.

Best thing to do is just keep watching the forums for when they are planning a night.

Welcome to the IRRs. So which coast is it? I'm on the West, so if you are too, you're doubly welcome, since things get mighty deserted about 9:00 PM our time most nights.
I'll keep an eye out for ya.

BTW, I'm one of the "been playing for a long time but can't twitch worth a plugged nickel" group, I'm an occasional squad leader, and I go Medic 90% of the time. Hope to wound and/or revive you soon!

I just loaded up BF2 again.. been playing 2142 but would like to try my hand every so often back in BF2.. Would one of you point me in the right direction to get setup to play with ya'll. I cant seem to find the posts that talk about where the server is located.

I guess I also need to find out what PoE is and how to get setup with that. Since I see alot of posts about that.. HELP!! :-)

Ash check out the supporting member download section, you will want to pick up PoE (Point of Existance) from there, that is the mod that is played 95% of the time here now.

Its just a mod, so all you have to do is install it and you will get new shortcuts on your desktop to log in there. PoE is really a lot better than vanilla BF2, so I think you will enjoy it. TacMod requires several map packs, plus TacMod itself. Check out the Tactical Mod forum to get the info on setting that up.

The server status page works for BF2 servers.
