Hovertank Control Problem

I am having a control issue that I was hoping some other TGers could help me out with:

Whenever I jump into a hover tank, I can control the tank normally except for one, huge problem - the gun barrel won't move up or down. This is a big deal, of course, unless I am shooting at something 10 feet in front of me. Otherwise, it is impossible to get off any sort of ranged shot. The "normal" tank, on the other hand, works fine for me. I have sifted through all the BF2142 control options pages and can't find a key control/binding that controls the turret. I assume it should just be a movement up or down with the mouse just like in the normal tank.

Anyways, I have no idea how to fix this. Has anyone else experienced this problem before? Know how I might solve it?

That is odd because you should be able to aim up and down with the mouse. Does the tank turn when you move the mouse side to side?

Well, I finally fixed it today. Funny thing is, I'm still not sure what was wrong in the first place. I simply reset all my controls to default and then manually reentered my custom settings EXACTLY the way they were before. Voila... tank controls now work fully. It's frustrating to fix a problem though and still not know what was originally wrong - I looked over all the movement and view bindings and can't find a single one that was different then from before.

Oh well... maybe I'm just missing something or maybe BF2142 is actually an EA product and I wasn't awa..... oh... right.

That's good news!

I suspect the controls.con file got corrupted somehow.
