MD5 Error when installing

1.10 refused to work no matter what I did when I tried to install it, so despite loathing to do it I uninstalled BF to try to reinstall it again. Now I'm back to the same issues I had before. I have the EA Link version, so I downloaded it and try to install it and unless I'm incredibly lucky (That's how I got it installed before), I get at least one, generally 3-4 MD5 errors. For example,

MD5 Error: D:\<install Dir>bf2142\mods\menu_client.zip

That's the most common one, but it generally happens on at least 2 or 3 of the _____client.zip's. EA Support is as before, useless, in actually helping me. Anyone have any ideas, anything? I tried downloading and installing to a different partition, ending unneccessary processes, and I've cleared my temp files 3 or 4 times now. The last time this happened, I had to download and attempt the install 10 times before it worked, and I really don't feel like doing that again. If I can't get this solved, I don't think I'll be able to run with you guys any more.

Re: MD5 Error when installing

I recall having a similar error in Battlefield 2. I had to uninstall the game and remove all the Battlefield 2 crap from my registry and do a fresh instal. It's a crappy solution but it may work in this case.

Or it could be something messing up when you are copying files on your computer.

Re: MD5 Error when installing

ASRock 939Dual-SATA2 (Uh... Did..)
AMD Athlon 64 3000+
768 mb ram (3 256mb sticks, one was dodgey)
GeForce 7300GS 512 MB
250 GB SATA HDD

I figured it out, I had a bad stick of RAM. Unfortunately I somehow managed to kill my BIOS during the process (Always ground yourself kids!). Ordered a new mobo and a gig of RAM, so I should be back up and running in a few days.

WOW... killed your BIOS by not grounding? Good thing I bought an anti-static wristband before I built my new computer. That's probably the worst way to lose a motherboard . I feel sorry for ya, man. Glad you solved your problem though.
