Battlefield 2142 problems

OKay, this is my deal. When I start the game everything is fine, it loads up i can do whatever in the main screen, but once i go into a server or single player, I get like 5-10 seconds into the game and it closes the game completely. No error message shows up nothing. I play Battlefield 2 with no problems at all. My settings are medium, high on the game. I had my friend install the game on his dell desktop. Plays the game perfect.

I reinstalled my video drivers, and all that other stuff. Uninstalled the game and reinstalled the game like 4 times now. I even deleted the game from the registry after I unistalled it, figuring maybe it would get rid of whatever was wrong, but it didn't work. Anyone know what is wrong or has anyone had this same problem.

I use a AMD 64 3200 2.2Ghz, 1.5ram, ATI X700Pro

you got plenty of machine to "play"..2142 takes a LOT more machine IMHO than BF2 does..but with everything you have tried, and still not able to play, my only thought is to wipe the drive and start over with a fresh install of everything...i know that sucks bigtime..but you are just wasting lots and lots of time now and it is not up and going..

i had major issues also..and i ended up reformatting and starting all over...found out later that my issues were caused mostly by my router and connection...

Try turning off VOIP. It sounds wierd, but mine would CTD whenever someone talked on VOIP until I turned it off. VOIP worked with EAX off though, which is what I do now.

thanks guys, i took it to a computer shop down the road to have them look at it, i dont feel like messin with my computer that much sense it like almost perfectly set up for me right now, ill see what they say at the computer shop

If you haven't tried a spyware or virus scan, that might help. Also, if you can close out of any background programs you don't need running (Ctrl+Alt+Del), that may help. On my old computer, I used to have a similar problem due to background programs that turned out to be spyware.

no actually i didnt have any spyware or viruses, the computer shop tried 4 different high end video cards, 3 different kinds of ram nothing worked, we did end up getting it running for like 5 mins once or twice but that was it. Im just going to reformat.

Strange. Just remember to back up anything important before you do so.
