Boot into a black screen?

I was trying to play BF2142 last night, but each time I booted the game, it would load into a black screen and then stay there. Alt-Tabbing and Windows keys did nothing. Luckily, I have my Task Manager open in my other monitor when I hit Ctrl+Alt+Delete, and I can manually kill the process. I tried restarting my computer several times, and even updated my video drivers, but still have the same issues.

This morning I managed to play BF2142 (on the TG server) with TSO working, and no issues at all. However, now that I'm trying to play again, I just keep booting the game into a black screen.

I've tried restarting my computer, alternating between BF2142Pace and BF2142Launcher, and removing my custom parameters (for my widescreen display), but it still boots into a black screen.

Anyone know how to fix this issue?

Yeah, I feel ya man. I ran into the same problem today. There is a solution, wipe out everything, including the EA folder then reinstall the game. After that if it still not work, right click the BF2142 Icon and set the compatibility to Windows 2000. Dunno why EA makes it like this.
