Question Team members always on minimap?

Is everyone on your team always visible on the minimap even if they're using active camoflauge at the time (the sniper unlock)? Or can they ever be "invisible" for some other reason? There are times when I'd like to grenade a balcony or someplace I can't view, and I'd like to be confident that no team members might be lurking there without me knowing.

Also, is there any approved in-game unlock that makes you look to an enemy like you're on their team (via blue overhead text)? I was killed by someone the other night who clearly was lettered/colored as being on my team, but there was no message about forgiving/punishing or being killed by a teammate. This was on a server with Punkbuster enabled. / PR

Re: Team members always on minimap?

I would have thought players using active camo still show on the mini-map.

For the other thing, you may have experienced the "blue tag bug", where an enemy has a blue tag.

Re: Team members always on minimap?

Yes, all friendly players will always show on your minimap.

As for the teamkill, the game might not have properly registered him as the person that killed you.

Thanks to both responders. I'll throw those grenades with some confidence now. I'll look for mentions of the "blue tag bug" as well. / PR

Also make sure the tag you are looking at belongs to the person in front of you. There have been a few instances where I have blown away a teammate because his tag was not showing up, but a red tag was. Once the teammate falls to the ground I realize there was an enemy behind him, and it was his tag I was seeing.
Sometimes I am able to remedy the situation by killing the baddie and reviving my mate... but usually I am confused and all my ammo is lodged in the body at my feet. The enemy spots me and I usually don't live to fix my mistake.
