12/29/06 "First Time CO"
I originally planned for some TGI(Titan)F, but I decided to go with Conquest instead. I'd never been Commander before today, and my first time being commander, I told my squads to go somewhere different about every 5 seconds. It was horrible. After a couple more commanding rounds, I really started to get the hang of it. The squad leaders were very cooperative after a while, and everyone worked great as a team. Unfortunately, about my 10th time in a row being commander, BF2142 completely closed on me. Strange, but true. I automatically switched over to the other team when I rejoined the server, lost one round being a squad member, then became Commander. Squad leaders on this team were a little more arguable, making it slightly difficult, but we pulled out with a 20-ticket leading victory! Also, being commander gave me about 100 more career points each round than normal, which really boosted up my rank.
![]() Conclusion: Victory means more when there's more to lose. TG is a great community, and not one person with the TG tag (that I played with today) has disrespected anyone else, and everyone worked together outstandingly. I hope to try out Commander again in the future, but it's a lot more work than I thought it would be. |

Re: 12/29/06 "First Time CO"
The key phrase from above! But, yes it is fun commanding on the TG server. Sorry I missed out on the fun. =(
p.s. Commanders please use your Mic. If you dont have a mic, perhaps you should rethink commanding?

Re: 12/29/06 "First Time CO"
I think I was one of the squad leaders while you were commanding
You didn't do too bad, and you actually talked WOOOOOOO. Although you kept giving my squad orders to move to Power Station when we were the only things holding back the tide of people trying to take Eastern Docks. Although once I told you, you figured it out, instead of spamming me with "Follow orders!" and clicking power station repeatedly.

I don't like to harass people like that, especially being commander. Here's a tip for commanders: If you think something's a good idea, you might be wrong. Squad Leaders have the first person action. They can tell what's been going on specifically with their squad better than you. Listen to your Squad Leaders and be open to suggestions and requests. Just because something looks perfect doesn't mean it will work out strategically correct. |

Re: 12/29/06 "First Time CO"
Whenever I have the urge to CO, some pubbie with a higher score takes it. It does have a nice bonus if you win, both in points and in giving your team a more enjoyable, strategic round.
