2142 on private server?

I was wondering if 2142 can be put on the private server? If so and the powers to be gave the ok to do this would we be able to adjust game play to our liking as long as it is on our private server? Does EA have rules against this. Examples would be ticket count increase to make for those longer, more tactical TG games that we are used to in Vanilla and POE. Open all the unlocks so everyone has the same reperatoir of weapons and toys at their disposal. If it can be put on the private server it would also be nice for the inhouse squads and supporting members a place to practice. Just curious and was thinking if there might ever be a Monday Night Madness kind of thing that we used to have with Vanilla.

Re: 2142 on private server?

If it's private (locked), then it can't be ranked and you can change all of the settings (ticket count, etc). I think that the three options regarding unlocks are: first tier, none, or ones you have earned.

Re: 2142 on private server?

It will be placed on there this weekend. Someone has already requested a practice on it.

We will probably have an internal scrim on it near the end of the month. After seeing how that goes, we'll decide what happens next.

What about command primers on it? Something where newb commanders can get advice etc without having to worry about rankings and screwing up peoples KDR.

Re: 2142 on private server?

The thought of developing a Point of Existence type module for Battlefield 2142 was brought up in another thread, where it was pointed out that a lot of changes could be made server-side to create a more tactical gameplay environment. I wondered if there was any further discussion about hosting a private server?

Even if it was on a limited basis, I believe this would provide Tactical Gamer members with an opportunity to begin working together to try and develop a version of the game that better suits their style of play and offers them a real alternative to the public servers. That is not to say the Conquest server is not an asset and testimony to the fact that tactical play can be accomplished on a public server, but that the requirements and restrictions placed upon it to maintain a ranked status limit many of the options available to further enhance gameplay.
