TGITF: 9th Squad

Just wanted to give a shout out to all the guys who were in my 9th squad today, I had an absolutely FANTASTIC time squad leading. It's usually something I avoid doing, especially on Titan maps, but John had just left the game when I signed on, and the SL position fell upon me. I haven't had more fun in TG since the BF2 SLing days. Plus, all those extra squad leader points were absolutely fantastic. We got best squad 4-5 times in a row, and still managed to get our name known in the next few rounds. Even had one person on teamspeak ask us to "tone down the teamstacking" (after our squad dominated his). Hahaha. Good evening.

As for those on the other team, wanted to give a shout out to Yoyi and his squad. Even though he and his entire squad (it seemed) tried sneaking into the silo we were defending completely cloaked up, we still managed to mow them down each time. However, it was hilarious watching all of us freak out whenever we saw a red diamond walking around.

Some names from those who played squad members in my squad...
  • |TG-7th| Fehmart
  • |TG| Rico_5
  • Toona2k
  • TG-9th TG-FatKidDeath
  • 1stMI| Md2a
  • There was someone else in my squad with a TG tag who helped me tremendously, but the screenshot I took to help me remember his name (my memory after gaming is horrible) didn't save. Anywho, you know who you are, and thanks!

Another shoutout to the commander of our team, sikich, who did a fantastic job communicating with me and keeping me and my squad updated and supplied. Plus, it was funny hearing him say "Alright Squad 4, go do the thing you do best."

I had a lot of fun tonight guys, and want to thank you all for the great time! It's nights like these that pay for the supporting membership many times over. =D

Re: TGITF: 9th Squad

The squad did pretty well, but to be honest, we never encountered really fierce Titan defenses. You know the ones: two or more IPS paired with sentry guns and grenade spam, etc. It did help that we started attacks right after shields went down.

One thing that I felt you did quite well for Titan assaults was "cower": instead of leaving a beacon on the exterior, which is defenseless and easily destroyed AND increases the length of time before reinforcement arrival, you holed up in a hallway with a recon drone, allowing us to reinforce immediately.

And some of you thought I was joking....

I was on the other side and we had a hard time getting organized. Sometimes my squad would be on the attack and were pushing hard to take out the core but then the rest of my team didn't do so well defending the titan. Other times I tried to scramble the squad back to the titan but I never could give the squad enough time to get back there. Most of the time the team went without a commander so it was hard to judge what was happening on the titans. Arf commanded one round and provided great intel but I think my squad was on titan attack that round.

I'm glad to see that this tactic work. I've been criticized before for using a recon drone instead of a beacon.
