Good, free defrag tool?
Well my hard drive is running much slower than I'd like, which means it's time for another defragmentation. I used to use the built-in Windows defrag tool, but I've heard that it's not so great. So what are some free defrag programs I can run to clean things up?

Re: Good, free defrag tool?
I know you want free, but I'd rather have something that is proven and have to pay for it. I've been using PerfectDisk for several years now and have had zero issues with it. In fact I even forgot it was running for about a year
I haven't looked at the other defraggers in that thread but one thing I liked about PD is that it does what it calls Smart Placement. This will determine the most frequently used files and place them where they can be accessed the fastest.
