Invincible players who kill with 1 shot

Something strange happened to me twice on the "Fallen" map. Both my friend and I were very irritated late Sat. night and Monday nights when we kept getting killed with one shot. It was not the shotgun (which I thought was the only hand held gun that could kill you with 1 shot besides maybe the sniper rifle), but another weapon. It happend over and over again and had nothing to do with lag. My friend plays alot of war games, and is big on Dessert Storm, but this experience got him so annoyed that he quit playing, and if it happens too many times he will quit playing POE. He could also bring several people with him to the POE servers, and is very skilled on war games (its not like he does not know what he is doing). It seemed to be much worse on "Fallen," so we got to thinking that either their are hidden weapons on the map that are unrealistically better than what most of us have (I really don't have the time to try and find these hidden weapons and really don't want to - I'd rather everyone play on equal grounds), or as my friend said, we have some "cheaters" on our servers. I would hope that no one is cheating and I even hate to say that word...hopefully that is not the case and its the hidden weapon thing. My friend also said that he wasted a whole clip of ammo on an enemy and it did not kill him, and yet my friend and I get killed in 1 shot over and over again? It really takes the fun out of the game. The main thing I know is that if this keeps occurring (whatever the reason), then this is going to keep several people from coming to play on the this server, which is exactly what we don't want to happen. Any ideas?

A headshot with almost any weapon will be a 1 shot kill. I use the Spec Ops gun almsot exclusively due to it's accuracy and high rate of fire. I shoot a clip in someone in about the time they have shot three times. Also, if you have a high ping, you may only hear 1 bullet when multiple are coming your way. You will find that the people who are the deadliest have specialized in their weapon choices and found out how to use it to their advantage. Most of the times, it's the stock weapons, not the pick up ones that do the most damage (Ukraine Assault, German Support, Spec Ops of either side). As a side note, because the Spec Ops gun is silenced, often you don't hear the bullets until your already dead.

I highly doubt that this is anything to do with "invincible players who kill with 1 shot", as there are 62 players on the server for several hours every night, and we would certainly hear about it and experience it personally.

There are lots of possibilities for one-shot or sudden death. Aside from the obvious shotty and sniper rifle, you can be ripped very suddenly by assault rifle shots to the head. If you honestly believe that someone is cheating at the game, then contact someone from the admin team with detailed information and we will investigate.

I know that Fallen can be particularly upsetting to play until you get used to it. Most of the time, you don't see the guy who kills you because he is hidden or behind you. I recommend being as stealthy as possible for best results. Try using the Spec Ops kit so that people have a hard time finding you when you shoot.

Man oh man have I been there! This was something that was hard for me to get used to as well. Most of the time in POE when you empty a mag into someone only the first one or two rounds actually hit the person. These weapons are terrible on full auto. I spent months learning "burst control" so I could drop three rounds, finger of the trigger, three more rounds etc..... I am in no way saying I'm good at this game because I'm not but burst control helps me keep my k/d score a little closer to even. Most of these weapons will kill with one shot to the head if you're even a little wounded, even the pistol depending on how hurt you are. I'd have to say don't get discouraged and just try and slow down a little.

Most of the old timers here at TG have been doing this for years and their "twitch muscle" and aim is almost perfect. Keep trying!!!

I appreciate the input. I will defiantely try firing the burst and see if that helps. I've only been playing Battlefield for about 6 or 7 months, and only play 1-2 maps 4-5 days a week, so I'm still rather new at this. Also, I didn't realize that the Special Ops gun could drop someone in 1 shot, and I think that this is the gun that seems to get me most in 1 shot (or what seems to be 1 shot). Hearing this info. from people puts me at ease with people using the hidden weapons to gain an extra advantage or of anyone cheating. If anyone else has any other info. that could help me out it would be graeatly appreciated. I agree that Fallen seems to be one the toughest maps. Thanks...

Except for the anti material sniper rifle there are no special weapons that will kill you in one shot. Listen to lucky though...any weapon can do a headshot and in some cases its just a quick burst of a weapon that will take you down before you even know your being hit. Thats one of the good things with POE though...the weapons are deadly...especially when you learn how to use them. There is no major silly deviation pattern that vanilla has. I would break down the weapons like this:

- Assault Rifles: Burst/Auto up close but anything over about 40 meters I would quickly switch to one shot with ironsights/zoom...tap tap tap...they are down because you used quick accurate shots. The Vepr can get away with burst at medium range somewhat but the G36's are pretty much worthless at anything not close up in burst mode.

- Support Machine Guns: Prone and full auto at everything close to medium-long range. At extremely long ranges like on the hills of Sambir switch to the one shot modes of these monsters...bam you have a sniper rifle.

- Spec Ops: UKR: Keep enemy encounters at close or close-medium range. If really close spray half a clip into the enemy. At the capable longer range of your weapon use up the whole clip in ironsight mode. GER: Keep enemy encounters at close or medium range. At close ranges spray with full auto. At medium ranges use one shot mode in ironsights....tap tap tap tap...dead enemy.

- Engineer, AT and Snipers: The weapons here should be obvious. Avoid enemy encounters over close-medium range with the AT and ENG kits. Snipers should always move in ways that mantain medium or higher range encounters.

I will stress though that half of what makes certain players good is in their movement patterns and situational awareness. Where will the enemy be? Am I exposing myself heavily if I move in X pattern? Am I running around without care for potential enemy just to get quickly to my destination? Am I ready to engage a potential target as I move around structures? Think about these things...Fallen in particular highlights this.

One minor addition. The GER support gun is MUCH better than the UKR support gun. At medium or long range with the UKR support kit, you should:
- spot the target
- hide
- give some ammo to your squad mates so they can kill the target for you

I would suggest avoiding the UKR support gun unless your squad begs you to supply ammo. ESPECIALLY on Fallen, where the gun makes you a giant target every time you pull the trigger.

When you first get to the TG encampment, the same thing that make you live, also makes you die.

Meaning, gameplay is very impressive, but due to the fact that there are lot of wonderful players from around the world, they are also very impressive at destroying others.

Like you I was very frustrated. I spent months off-line playing before going on-line, and the pace and speed of the game is so quick on-line it is sickening.

I remember one time on Karkand I was playing and a squad of TG players decided to equip themselves with the RPK. Dude, I was totally dead.

Hell, just search the threads created by Backlash and that will get you started. lol.

Knowledge is power when it comes to tactics. Not bench pressing 400 lbs power, but improving your kill/death ratio and saving your team tickets power.

There is a default one-shot kill weapon on the infantry maps. They are the anti-personal weapons that comes with the anti-personnel kit. They are normally called the anti-tank kit on maps with armor. If it scores a direct hit, then you are dead. If the person gets really good with the kit, it's not uncommon kill targets at contact before they even have a chance to shoot.

I often kill people with one shoot in POE. Maybe I am lucky but I have no problem killing people with one shoot with the medic default gun. As mentioned the weapons are very deadly in POE.

I love the anti material rifle. If I can find a body part... then it's dead. One shot, one kill. I do this best at the absolute max range. I look at the radar and if I dont see blue...i shoot anything that moves. Usually with zero information other than a shadow and no blue on the radar. I then have to move after about 3 kills as Luckyshot or Santa will hunt my @ss down.

the german support weapon is almost as bad. On single shot, and distance, you can pepper an area and get kills with out seeing even the shadow.

Basically, What it comes down to.... This is an adult server, that is run with fairly strict (and fair) admins. Populated by a core (hard) bunch of regulars who are very good at this game. Some of these squads scrim against others and kick @ss. When they have 2 or more on one side.... they can dominate. The regulars who do not belong to that fist group, get better each day. They have been known to take on the "pro" squads like the 5th, 12th, 33rd, 7th.... nd kick their combined @ss. This is not a Pubbie server.... This is a CLAN server full of serious players. Hackers dont survive here for very long. Same goes for idiots.

Stay awhile.... if you think you are good.... you will find you will get even better. The competition will force you to gt better just to survive. I get humbled (trashed) every night. I have never thought.... "HACKER". I just curse my own inability to survive against very tough competition.

As mentioned the weapons are very deadly in POE.

You also have to watch out for another one shot one kill weapon and that is the GAS that comes from the 33rd after a night of drinking. Whew you wanna talk about deadly!

Personally so do I find it extremely refreshing that one shot kills are very possible and do occur in PoE, rather than like it is in vanilla where one can unload half a clip in to an other without much happening. I also like what the possibility of one shot kills do for the gameplay, since most people will try to act accordingly if they know that a skilled player can kill them with one well-aimed shot. PoE is different that vanilla BF that way.

As for hackers so do I have yet to see anyone I even suspect of it. I have very hard time believing that anyone from the community doing such things. I do how ever know that there are many very good players on the server, who also know what they are doing. Getting picked off by good players do I only see as a reason to try to improve in order to tackle them later in the round.
