Orel... Did you know?

Did you know that you could climb on top of most of the buildings in Orel? All it takes is a jeep and some determination. Here are some example screenshots by the Lumbermill.

and...

Can you imagine the implications of this? You could ask the squad I shot in the back as they ran past me tonight, or you could have if I hadn't taken down their medic too!

So how'd I do it?

It's worth noting that on the flag roofed homes, it's wide enough to allow your squad to spawn on you. Again, what are the implications?

Good Luck and Happy Hunting!

I knew that :P I shot lucky and his squad off of one of those near the Church.

Re: Orel... Did you know?

I guess that one will have to start scanning off the roofs a bit more now. I would assume that there will be quite some confusion in the next couple of days, with people getting shot from rather unexpected directions. The first two pictures indicates that a surprising defence of that flag can be done on the expence of those trying to cap it.

Can't work out how to have several different images [such as banners and ribbons] in the signature, so I will drop that project for now...

Caesar counted on his veteran Gaul legions. Napoleon had his Old Guard. Queen Victoria was well served by the Cold Stream Guards. Tactical Gamer can always rely on the
6th Devil's Brigade.

Re: Orel... Did you know?

there's alot of buildings with boxes that can be accessed and then you can jump from roof to roof. I've done that before. Never tried the jeep method, but most people don't even know about the boxes so they don't expect shots from up.

Reminds me of playing Wolf on the CCM server.

"Slide down the cable, ride the rail, over to the box and up on the rock.

Re: Orel... Did you know?

There is some good footage of a player on the BF2C vs TG scrim on that map doing some this stuff. The player was on top of a building and heeved two smokes. Good camera work.

I rarely go on rooftops; I'm always picking people off of them.

Please don't! I often get so excited that gravity does the work for the enemy.
It’s so hard to get up, but so easy to fall down.

Re: Orel... Did you know?

Heh - yeah, now anytime we see a 5th flag, we're scanning rooftops for Lucky "spiderman" Shot

Re: Orel... Did you know?

I got him quickly last night. Soon as his C4 went off at a neutral flag and 5th tags starting flowing from a certain direction I knew where the source might be...sure enough there he was.

Re: Orel... Did you know?

It gave us a good spawn and a half off of that roof though and most would not have known. I killed quite a few going into the flag without anyone even looking my way.

Re: Orel... Did you know?

Yeah - was suprised I didn't see my head exploding in any of those shots - took me a few to figure out where you were, but luckily I was squadded with eagle-eye Mantis.
