Excellent Teamwork vis a vis SL and CO

It is 11 PM TG server time, and I just finished a great round of COing -- can't recall the name of the new PoE map (Bezine?? the city map with Heliport to the north west).

Santa was SL of squad four, and I think Luckshot and other notables were SLing in game. I think we may have lost the round -- I failed to keep Heliport, and the north East base next to it. Even though we had most flags it seems we lost by 20 or so tickets.

No matter. My point here is that I had COMPLETE cooperation from all SLs. The failure to win is entirely my own fault. That also is not the point I wish to make.

The measure of a great collective work is the teamwork across SLs, and for tonight, for that map, everyone did what was asked of them.

Extraordinary teamwork across 6 or so squads. Great work. Do not know if we were up against an enemy commander, but I hope my COing added something to everyones game. If not, let me know. No point in my wasting time/pleasure...

Yea, I was in there for a bit until a CTD knocked me over to the other side. I spent the next 10 minutes trying to get back. In the meantime, I was creating a nuisance for the Ukraine.

I was telling e-male this, but do not be afraid to step up to CO because you dont think people will follow your orders. If you have an admin as a SL, is on your team, or is in TS (one of those is almost always true) then you have a great way to get rid of disobedient SLs. Go ahead and give them a warning that you will get an admin if they dont follow orders. If they still don't follow orders, tell an admin you already warned the SL and we'll take care of it.

Indeed, and I do. I usually make it very clear to a problem SL that TG does not tolerate any crap.

On another note, that was an odd map, one side has a UCB and one does not. My failure to make the heliport a priority probably lost the round for us. I remember zooming in on Luck Shot (I think), just as we was turning the flag right next to Heliport. As I watched, in came a heli and wiped him and his squad off the face of the earth. We never came close to getting that flag again.

The map was "Red Dawn", a cool map. The BF2 map makers should've made one like it. It sort of reminds me of Stalingrad and Berlin from BF1942, but more open. We brought the game very close but lost it by a few tickets. I agree the helipad was an important base, there just didn't seem to be any good anti-air in much of the map. The enemy helo was pretty brazen.

That map might benefit from a full-time anti-air squad who takes responsibility for scooping up the stingers and heading to the rooftops to keep the chopper in missile lock and under Support gunfire.
Every time I concentrate on keeping a heli tone-locked or under fire, even with an under-powered gun, the pilots start flying more erratically and often leave or get so distracted they even knock into a mountain or treetops.
Seems the plinking of bullets on the fusilage is hard to ignore; no pilot wants the humiliation of being brought down by small arms fire.
I'm going to try and find a cheap mic at freddy's today so hopefully I can try this tactic sometime soon!
See you on the Battlefield.
