Feb. 22, 2007. Cool, an actual date.

I guess I'll need to accomplish everything on my life to due to list within a month before my life is over.

But wait

Re: pre-order English version now...

Ah yes. I've used GoGamer before and been happy with their service.

I'll be upgrading from my aging 9600XT to a 7800GS soon and once I confirm everything looks decent in the demo I'll likely pre-order.

They have every price range covered for anyone considering a new vid card.

I don't know too much about the 9600XT but I bet an upgrade to the 7000 series will do you justice.

I just wanted to chime in and let you know I've seen several posters who've tested vid options on this title and most are finding that this game is CPU intensive as opposed to GPU intensive (like BF2). I think it was Magnum that did some experiments on various graphical settings and found out the difference between maximum settings and lowest settings yielded only about a 10-15% difference in FPS rates. Even those with top of the line vid cards are encountering lower than expected FPS rates. There is a known issue with foliage that really locks some poeple up badly. A patch did come out that helped and speculation now is that the US release will bring with it a patch that will optimize graphics when it's applied...hope this is true...

Re: pre-order English version now...

Good information Grunt. If nothing else the 7800GS will let me run BF2/POE quite a bit higher graphics-wise. I'm running a P4 2.66Ghz at the moment and won't be upgrading anytime soon.

Re: pre-order English version now...

I saw a pretty good increase when I added a hardware accelerated sound card. I went from 15fps to 25 or so.

Re: Pre-order the English version now...

I think a hardware accelerated sound card would definitely help the frame rate a bit. But there are some serious issues with using accelerated sound in the game that will hopefully be fixed in the next patch.

Re: Pre-order the English version now...

Has anyone tried preordering from Amazon.uk? It says they can't ship software to the US. If anyone has a workaround, that would be fantastic, otherwise I'll just use www.gogamer.com

Re: Pre-order the English version now...

@Strikeman
That is the question of the day. Posts on the glop.org forum seem to indicate that 505 will be using SecureROM. That's what I'm hoping. SF would be a deal killler for me.

Re: Pre-order the English version now...

They are using SecueRom, it's been confirmed. Armamods is selling the game, but it comes out to close to $70, where as Go Gamer is under $50.

Re: Pre-order the English version now...

Sweet. Check out armedassault.com news, a North American publisher has been found! Still think I'll keep my order at GoGamer with the 505 version.
