Night Admins

We definitely need more Admins during the 11:00pm to 1:00am hours

Seems like the TG server falls apart when there are no admins on. Nobody listens, nobody follows plans, they all just do what they want for the most part. It wasn't until The Big C came in and started replacing some order that we got back to normal.

I just thought I'd complain a little.. I realize everyone plays when they have time, just thought I'd let you guys know it is a pretty big problem. There have been many-a-nights I've come on around 11:30 or so and it's been nothing but Rushers, TKers, people not listening.. etc.

I seriously haven't played a single pub game since I've come to this server. I love playing the TG way, even though I'm not perfect yet and still might make some mistakes, I do try. It's just a little annoying at times when idiots don't listen at night.

Anyways I'm done complaining Just thought i'd rant for a bit.

How many times have you followed the player conduct SOP?

HOw about instead of giving someone who is obviously concerned about player behavior on the server a smart alic comment or question then maybe try informing them how they should go about it. That to me would be the Professional way for an Admin to answer his request I mean after all this is PCS isn't it?

That's the one.

Retali8 (and everyone else experiencing troublemakers) - that SOP is there for a reason, and it helps us to take action much quicker than if we happen to see something in the chat logs.

Re: Night Admins

You know, I'm no admin but I can only attribute that I've never seen any "disorganization" whenever I play on the server to the fact that I'm always organizing it so that we can all have a lot more fun? You don't need to be an admin to make the games great here, what they do isn't something that you can't.

What's been most surprising to me in the past few months, and should serve as an inspiration to everyone else, is the fact that even the people I never expected to listen and go along with my plans really enjoy doing them more than anyone else. The hardest part is telling yourself "okay this may totally fail, but lets make it totally great effort".

Half the pleasure of the games I've played here is leading the pack, dying hopelessly in a hail of gunfire, and watching my team THEN completely act out my plan to the details I specified. They don't need you as the boss, they need to see that you're someone who is willing to sacrifice his "life" time after time again to carry out something greater than just his score.

I provide cover fire at risk of my own life, I act as bait for enemy snipers so that our own can take them down. I pull things together even when gunfire is all around me and I've lost all chance of survival, telling them where they should go once I'm down.

And it hardly occurs to them as I die over and over to make sure they succeed...that I'm happier to see my team win without me than to have a positive ratio.

You don't need to lay out complicated details and drill it into their heads, you need them to trust you to lead them with your rhetoric and to see you as a friend in your repeated sacrifice for them. That's what tactics here stem from, and what makes this place special.

If you don't have it in you to lead your team you should try to lead your friends...

...because then when you realize there is no difference...

...you'll finally understand why you came to TG in the first place...

Re: Night Admins

Retaili8 and Root>

Reporting problems the way the SOP outlined is a very good system, but useless without feedback to the community in general. If the administration were to provide a weekly "Community Update" addressing player issues, community events, and new server implimentations, etc, than perhaps the players would feel more comfortable bringing these issues to admins privately, knowing they will be publicly addressed at a later time.

In addition, comments/complaints will remain annonomys while being brought to the attention of the community. For example, if Retaili8 had PMed you and said "I think there need to be more night admins" the weekly address could sound something like this:

The side effect of this would be a better informed, closer knit community of involved players.

Re: Night Admins

Would you agree that the downside of that, is that we advertise to the entire web the best times to come and cause grief on the server?

I would disagree 100%. I'm certain the vast majority of players who cause grief and disrupt our play do not, have not, and will not ever bother to come to these forums let alone read through our postings. The problem players are just your average pubber with no real motivation to check out what we're about. It's the people who come to our server and enjoy how we play that end up here on our forums.

No.

That makes some odd assumptions, one being that there is a body of players who troll forums looking for server "weakness."

I assume that if players are reading the tactical gamer forums they are interested in our playstyle and probobly not a greifing "threat."

Edit: Sorry for the simul-post. Atomic, you are quicker than me =/

A valid point from both you and Atomic.
