Punishing Teamkills!

Ok, this is pretty much a non issue with any devoted TG members, however I wanted to say something in this regard.

Please do NOT punish for TK. I would venture to say that 99.5% of the TK are by accident on the TG server. And most of those are caused by the person getting killed not the TKer.

I have my support and I am laying down suppressive fire, suddenly my OWN SQUAD member runs in my line of fire and dies, then punishes me within 1/2 a second! This is my fault how? This person punished me why?

Anyhow, do not punish for TKs, unless they truly deserve it.

Re: Punishing Teamkills!

Worst is when the enemy is bleeding, mines are down, rifles are trained on the direction the enemy will assualt from, and...

The Road Warrior jumps into a FAV and takes off into the desert, blowing your well placed mines and him all to hell as he/she blows through your kill zone.

EDIT:

Granted there have been plenty of times I have done a poor job on my mine placement.
And then there was the time I went sniper. My SL (York) made like Sherif Taylor and made me put one bullet in my shirt pocket to stop me from destroying our own teamates.
Hell, on that same map, I missed up and blew C4 and took out like three guys on our side.
I was promptly kicked for this. Good thing to, I sucked something fierce on that map.

I have the opposite reaction to the pubbies, I go straight to the forgive button and think about whether they deserved it afterwards... :\

For me, 90 - Forgive
10 - Punish

split. Depends on the situation. While i'm laying there dying good and proper, I'll be thinking about the situation, if it could have been my fault. If there is any chance I was in the wrong, its a forgive. If it was a blatant TK because I was going to be first in the walker.... well.. you know the rest.

Re: Punishing Teamkills!

does punishing just give more of a negative point penalty? I rarely punish unless someone did something really dumb.

Re: Punishing Teamkills!

I have to admit that I punish more than I should. In my own defense though, they are mistake punishes. I quickly glimps down at the Pg up & Pg Dwn buttons and reach for them, and I usually hit the wrong one by mistake.
But I would have to say that really punishable acts are few and far between (I can barely remember the last time)

There is nothing wrong with feeling something when you shoot your enemies... as long as that something is recoil.

Re: Punishing Teamkills!

I never punish people, unless I have a good reason. I don't think I've ever punished
someone on the TG server. I hate it when I'm expecting someone
from the other team to turn around the corner and
then I shoot someone from our team. I just hate that.
Most of the time I don't kill them though.

Re: Punishing Teamkills!

It's been said here before, but punishing doesn't do anything other than add up for the auto kick, I'm not certain we even have an auto kick for teamkills on our server?

Punish me or not, I don't really care, it doesn't do anything.

I really never punish anyone. The only time I accidentally punished someone it was Bommando. Did I get an earful of that.

Re: Punishing Teamkills!

Pretty much the only time I punish is when an assault player runs around the corner and lights me up and instead of reviving me keeps on running. Even after this I wait for him to say sorry or something because maybe he doesn't have a defib. If I don't get one of those two I usually punish. This does not happen very often on our server very often though.

Re: Punishing Teamkills!

I forgive 99% of the time, mainly because I tend to get too excited sometimes and we all make mistakes.

I confess to TKing someone last night, I'd just spawned in to a beacon on top of a building overlooking a flag, other guys were running up the stairs, lots of enemy about and I hear one of my squad advising that there were "loads of enemy on the building", split second later a guy runs round the corner right at me...emptied my Voss straight into his chest, then checked his uniform.

One swift revive and multiple "sorry"'s later no harm done /blush

Re: Punishing Teamkills!

The only time someone gets a punish from me is when it is full-proof obvious they purpously tried to TK me. Im sure we have all thrown a grenade and a teammate gets a bit of the splash damage, mistakes happen
However, out of politeness if someone has the "TG" in front of thier names they automaticly get a FORGIVE.

Re: Punishing Teamkills!

Ugh...was I guilty of TKing today.

I mean..it was horrible. I think I had three or four in one round. For some reason my brain just wouldn't accept the fact I was EU and not PAC..and I lit up several teamates. I don't think any punished...even though I more than deserved it. (If any of you are reading this..I am sorry )

I finally downed a few enemies and left the server to get some sleep.

Re: Punishing Teamkills!

Wait, I thought we were not to punish anyone on the server, no matter what?

Has things changed in the future?
