25 Jan 2007, Hard fight tonight

Hey everyone, played a ton of great games tonight. The one that shone above all others was on Belgrade against Bommando's TG squad.

I want to give a shout out to all the great squad members:
{TG}Cobaltz
-}BEEF{-Flash)Hound76
digger_dave
Collectar (Sorry about the several TK's)
Gankin_FOES

Had 3 medics, 2 engineers, and I was support. Ran the FAV up to statue for a quick take, held it for a bit and had a run in with Bommando and company. Some seriously intense fighting on the flag, but got pushed back as we got overwhelmed. Bommando and the TG'ers grabbed the flag and now we are fighting behind the building to the south. After several more minutes of fighting, had to pull back and regroup again, this time to the building south of where we had previously been.
I remember at one point having a UAV up and seeing what I believed to be about 12 infantry advancing on our position, along with a walker and possibly APC. Asked the comm for an arty strike (it was up, thank god!). Gave my squad just enough time to heal and rearm before the next wave of attackers. There must have been 50-60 frag grenades exchanged on each side, but eventually the TG'ers pushed around the corner. Close combat fighting within 20 feet on each side. Slowly they moved forwards on us.
I decided to grab the beacon and order a full retreat to Playground. I got gunned down while showing my back, respawned and ran to the wall to proudly watch four of our six run across the street to safety. They returned bloody and out of ammunition, but safe nonetheless. Afterwards some serious fighting between our position at the wall and enemies across the street to the west. Fended them and (I believe) an APC off, watched bommando realize he had stretched past his defensive line and return to statue. Cleaned up the other infantry in the area and got ready for a new assault.
Came in from the south west, a bit of resistance but i'm not sure if we actually fought the TG'ers again (I think once we had a duke out but I dont remember at that point I was a bit caught up on the killing to notice the tags). Moved up and defeated the enemy again near the flag, made the final push and recapped.
From there on out it was all about defence.

I just want to say that was a great game, good teamwork on both sides. My squad, mostly full of people I originally considered pubbies, did a great job. You guys did everything we could ask here on the TG server, good rezzing, spawning the kits we needed, moving as a cohesive group. Thank you all for makin this a good night.
One question for the guys on the other team (Bommando, TG'ers) - Did you guys have two squads after us, or were you just really determined?

Edit: Oh, and good job Fehmart, RDX'ing my walker on Berlin and ending my killing spree. Too bad we'd just about won the game by then.

Pffft, PAC lost by over 200 tickets that round. It was just a horrid little massacre, but I can claim MORAL VICTORY. My apologies to my squad leader, who, like all the other squads, were simply unable to move out due to the armor preventing breakouts. I got fed up after the fifth or sixth explosive spam death, and just charged the walker. No one seemed to notice.

I successfully placed a lethal amount of RDX on an APC at one point, but died before pushing the detonator, prompting me to wish for a Zeller to manually detonate the charges (it never happened).

Didn't seem to have any trouble taking down my little APC, and tank!

Yeah, but I didn't get much action in the Rorsch that round. 5 kills, man, and I must have been wasted by the PAC APC Noob Cannon(TM) 10 times! I'm guessing, but close enough. Still, it was a bit lopsided. Then on Belgrade my squad (wasn't SL) took Pond and held it way longer than we should have.

Speaking of Belgrade, Ultrablue, WHERE ARE MY POPTARTS?!?!?!

If I remember right we held it the whole time and took out many tanks and APC's in the process. Your right he does owe you poptarts.

Re: 25 Jan 2007, Hard fight tonight

Yep, I mean, they had a tank, APC, spawnable base right there, plenty of sniping positions, and the fact that we couldn't engage unless fired upon or the left the UCB, and we had what, two AT turrets and a squad of 6, with only 1 engineer? Yeah, they should have smoked us, but they never got their act together and made a coordinated assault. The tank, well, I didn't see it much. The APC? Occasionally spamming mortar rounds then driving up to get owned by the Rorsches. Infantry? Please, I get knife kills from these idiots running up to the wall. One jump and slash later, a shiny set of tags for me and one less ticket for them. It was sad, but funny too.

Actually, no, I'm not. While you did do some of that stuff, and that's why I have two sets of your tags, not one, I think you learned rather quickly and abandoned a futile quest. The others on your team, not so much. And if you were wondering, yes, the reason Ultrablue owes me a box of poptarts is because you said he would give them to whoever knifed you. It led to some great VOIP conversations.

Re: 25 Jan 2007, Hard fight tonight

It was futile yes. But only becuase my team was a bunch of retards and I only had one other person with me on my squad against your full squad and a few more of your team defending the first base. I so wanted to draw you guys out for one on ones. I could taste it. At least I could take comfort that when I got some of you alone I had my way with you.

You guys did a good job. The server was heavily unbalanced those few games though. Maybe TG should be reminded to randomize more often when it gets to TG heavy on one side.

Yeah, one on ones where you could shoot us from a prepared position. Now, if you wanted to go toe-to-toe with cold steel, I'm all over that, as long as others will recognize the honor duel and see fit to steer clear.

BTW 50 I meant to ask you sometime and have kept forgetting, did you use to play XBOX live? You sound like a person I played Rainbow Six with.

Just remember anyone can knife someone in the back, as you did, thats easy. I am down for some knifeplay face to face anytime.

Nah, I did at one point but then we had satellite, so the only game I could play without lag raping me was MechAssault 2. FPS games would kick my connections butt. Nope, I've not played Xbox Live in, heck, a couple of years, and I never played Rainbow Six.

As for the knife in the back thing, Ultrablue was actually pining about stabbing you. It was kind of eerie, like MrSparkle when he's reeeeeally pissed off and you can hear his heavy breathing over VOIP, like an obscene phone call.
