Supreme Commander

How does EA/ Dice chose supreme commander? I was looking at the hall of fame on the battlefield.ea.com site and there is one guy who has been supreme commander twice. I looked at his profile and he has zero commanding hours and very few SL hours. In fact most of his time has been spent as a lone wolf. So why would they chose this guy? It seems to me he does not play the game as it was intended yet he is in the hall of fame.

Re: Supreme Commander

It's based on who has the most points, kinda sickening really.

Re: Supreme Commander

If it was based on who had the most points wouldn't the guys at the top of the overall leaderboards be the supreme comander? Gouf served two terms and has half as much points as the points leader.

No, it's not. As far as I know, the top guy has never been Supreme Commander yet. Also, the first SC was the first guy to reach 2142 dog tags.

The Supreme Commander selection is a bit of a mystery, as is the selection of Major and Lieutenant Generals. I could conjecture as to some of the stats, but in reality, it's a bit random. Some people say that it's the volume of career points achieved in the last week, but I was awarded LG after 10 days of not playing at all. I logged in one day and *poof*, I was LG.

My guess is, they set some sort of criteria each week, then the guy who meets it first that week is chosen.

All this makes sense because that is kind of the conclusion I came too. But what I find unbelievable is that you really went 10 days without playing.

Hm, I just figured it was based on points, I don't pay particular interest to the ranks...

Re: Supreme Commander

Well, Bom's rank is actually Lt. General in 2142. That's pretty uber. And as for the 7th Rangers, you're looking at our new insignia and signature tags, courtesy of Bommando

Re: Supreme Commander

Wha? You make a new tag whenever you get promoted?

We just rolled them out statically at the moment, but when I get time, they will be dynamically generated according to our current ranks.

Re: Supreme Commander

There is some story behind "Gouf" beeing it twice.

They promoted "Brad1992" to the next Supreme Commander - but it was obvious he was a P&K Server user since he had like 12000 Knife kills but only 2500 individual tags.

The day after he got his rank and stats reset. The Supreme Commander job just went back to Gouf.

Jeez, a new "Staff Officer" get's promoted and right away he starts bucking for that fourth star with reorganization sessions and uniform decorations. Man, you sure you were never in the Airforce Bomm? LOL

P.S. Those are actually pretty cool...not that I'm drooling or anything *wipe*
