Starting to figure out some things
I was playing BF2142 tonight, just for a bit - hit a couple maps. Two things FINALLY broke through the hard outer shell of my skull and absorbed into the soft tissue of my brain.
1. Keep moving. Sounds elementary but it really is harder to hit a moving target. I would fire a burst at someone and if the saw me then I became harder for them to hit. If the didn't see me, they probably knew approximately where the shots came from but, by then, I was already off to get a better shot behind cover - if they weren't dead that is. 2. Relates to the first point. I had orders to go one place and I was at another. The squad, not TG lead - although KrazyRusskie was there - was spread all over the map. I decided to follow my orders and hopefully meet up with the others at the mark. I dropped off some supplies for Krazy (he was a sniper) and made my dash. Got about half way there and saw the enemy - caught them on their blind side. Fired a couple of bursts and took down one for sure. Jumped a wall and dashed for better cover. Came around the corner and, low and behold, another target. He didn't see me either because my route wasn't a direct approach. BIG KEY TO SUCCESS I'M FINDING. He didn't fall but I wasn't going to let him get a bead on me because my skills aren't that great yet. To make a long story short (too late) this tactic REALLY works for me. I am sure all you veterans are well aware of this and may be chuckling to yourselves about my discovery. That's cool. I'll tell you what though - I am stoked about it! Maybe some other NOOBs can use what I learned too and get the rush I got tonight. Peace |TG-Irr| Boxcar0715 |

Re: Starting to figure out some things
You didn't just stand out in the middle of the street advancing while firing your weapon, like shown in EA's advertising video's?
It's hard not to be lazy and run through the open, or take a direct route sometimes, but after a while it becomes second natures. I try and only stop for rocket shots and you are very vulnerable at those times.
