High Ping

The last week i have been having a very high ping to the BF 2142 conquest server around 180, my ping is about 80ms. I have check my ping to yahoo--31ms, tg call of duty server 75 ms, titian server 93 ms. I cannt think of anything i can do to correct my ping to the sever. Any thoughts??? could it be that my cable company, Adelphia is changing to Time-Warner(roadrunner).

Sometimes the pings for players on the 2142 server will climb to higher pings like 180 or 250 in my case. It's not too bad. As long as your ping is under 250, you won't notice too much of a lag, if any at all.

I notice lag when its where it normally is for me: around 130.

I really notice it when I shoot someone, it takes a noticable (though very very very short) amount of time between me firing the shot and it hitting the guy. That's why I don't snipe: my lag makes it impossible, as I have to lead not only the target, but have to aim where he'll be 130 milliseconds from where he is at that moment (that can be enough movement to change a hit to a total miss).

Hey grandpa (man that's sounds cheesy...plus your 51

), Have you checked if it was something downloading in the background or somewhere else on your network stealing bandwidth from you? Sometimes Windows Update will end up stealing bandwidth during a gaming session.
