2nd Server?

Ever think of opening up a second 2142 server. Just like the one you have now. I mean, it's soooo fun that it's usually loaded so I can never get on. And I'm always telling my squad to join me in there, but it takes a half hour (or till the end of the round) for them to get in.

Just a thought...

There is another server, a titan one, but no one is ever on it ever

I use it to practice flying =)

Maybe it should be changed into a conquest one as no one does titan on it >_>

TG has a second server, only it's a titan server and is thus rarely used.

You could make the titan server into a city map only server - btu that could be the death of the 1st server >>;

I don't like City maps only servers =(

Its good to have some of the bigger more open maps with aircrafts.

The Titan servers seems to have been down since at least Friday. I'd like to play more Titan. I just end up on the Conquest server because it has more TG players, less lag, and our Conquest server attracts team oriented pubbies (our Titan server hasn't been established for that kind of gameplay with non-TG players).

The IP address has changed to 72.36.201.10:16567
The change of IP address will mean that a favorite bookmark of the old IP address will appear red in the game browser

I got tired of seeding the titan server a couple of months ago. There isn't enough interest here to really support it. When titan games do start, it peaks for a game or two then drops to small ~16 player games.

The 1.20 patch should bring some improvements for the Titan mode.

*Added server side option to prevent Titan Movement.
*Added optimization to Titan mode to reduce lag.

Hopefully that will help Titan mode to take off here at TG.

The real question to ask is if TG has enough members to support 2 servers. It's nice to have a second server but it's not nice if there aren't enough players to seed both of them.

With the reserve slot system, supporting members are more likely to join a populated server instead of seeding. Non-supporting members have no incentive to seed a server as well. Or titan isn't popular because players have performance issues or feel more comfortable with conquest.

We have more than enough members to populate two servers, but if the interest is not there, then it is not there..

Also note, this new server is more powerful than the old one. It should also help with performance issues.

Still like the idea of a Titan/Conquest mix. Not sure how other servers coded this, but I have been on a few. Would give us some variety and the Titan guys could get their fill.

I can't find it through searching or putting the new IP address in manually.
