Orel 02/05/07
I have to write this one up... it was a lot of fun and we had a crack squad.
Orel German Squad: MoreGooder, [TG] BannanaJuice, [QPS]_Mr.Qc, kilevvri1, [TG-12th]|Boot We rolled out hard and took the church with some effort. We were forced back to the Backyard and I decided to take our back flag back that was lost and never defended. Outpost was taken quickly and we turned that flag into our main objective the rest of the game. Squad 7 was a squad of mostly -[BH]- members that held the farm pretty much the whole game... Haven't seen them around much, but they did quite well. The TOC crew was fighting hard to hold on to Backyard. When the flag was lost my squad would move in to assist with recapture and clear it... then fall back to a defensive position between Outpost and Backyard. My whole squad was very quick to respond to action at either flag and we were able to hold on to the two flags. Eventually we moved to Hold the Hilltop on the North side of the map by the windmill. We held a solid line on the Northern flank and squashed many attempts to flank our forces to take the back flag. We definitely saw the 7th attempt a few pushes (All I remember seeing was Icky and few other 7th tags). This led us to top squad and good times! Great games tonight... there were a few back and forths making it a lot of fun ![]() ![]() |

Ya, the backyard was a hellish place at times. As seen in the pic... Flyer led with Liminal, Drakken, Solo, Britt, and myself as defenders of the realm .. or at least the backyard of it.. I played Spec ops for a change and had some fun blowing up fellas at the flag. I am not thrilled with the main gun though.
We repulsed numerous attacks and recovered from several more (with help). We did well to stay within our area although this was a problem several maps later. Highway to Hell had us fighting around the Farm for most of the map. Seems to me that I heard several on our side cursing Anubis and his chopper. |

I jumped in canarbn3com's squad.(squad 7) We had the Lumbermill on lockdown most of the game but eventually got pushed off to the Farmhouse. Overall a nice round for our squad....solid cohesion and communication throughout the round. Hes a good squad leader btw...just needs to lower his mic volume a tad...don't hesitate to jump in his squad some time!

Re: Orel 02/05/07
It was a tuff night for the Ukraine, as germany took most of the rounds until some very good players left on their side. All games were pretty close thought and It was a lot of fun once some TG-ers joined my squad full of pubbies.
In the end due to good teamwork we were able to try some more advanced tactics with good result. Here is the photo-report. The evening started on this map (look at picture, don't know name), where we took the ledge in the east of the map. Our objective was to hold the ledge the whole game, because it is strategically vital for both east flags. This led to lots of stand off's resulting in 30 kills for my sniper rifle, an absolute record! Note that it was still less then half (77) of mantis' kills on the other team . We lost, but had some very good fire fights here:![]() Next map was highway to hell, our mission was to hold the northern most flag, since it offers more control then the east (of town) flag. We got there ok , but were wiped off by a good air+ground assault of the pesky Germans. With heaps of armor at our base, we switched to an armor squad, and drove in formation to the flag: ![]() Notice on the minimap how much fire-power we were bringing. When we got close someone correctly interjected that we couldn't take the flag with only armor, so we proceeded to use an old tactic I devised that you can only use with a great team. We were to drive a circle around the flag, following a point man, to rain down huge firepower on all sides of the flag. We were hit by at's and air, and didn't make it to a full circle, but we did lots of damage and killed off some air. ![]() This armor formation is pretty powerful. It cannot be taken out by choppers, because we had 1 to 2 AA vehicles and 2 tanks and an apc to shoot them out of the sky. Planes will take out an armor or two though, but we did manage to down a plane too, and get many smoking. The second or third attack was successfull when we followed the armor push by respawning once as infantry. ![]() This was the end result, with the squad set up to minimize losses to air power, which we were mainly fighting against. The germans had been pushing hard the whole game, but at this point suddenly we had all flags but town. Then we were sent off to Orel. We were stationed on the church most of the time. I am very happy that my squad had the patience the perform a very cool little tactic, inspired by BF2c (at this point my squad was: troublesome, serafiel, phoenix, sam, PJ and that msn guy that ended up TK-ing me three times because I kicked him from the squad and locked it). I got everyone inside the small chapel except for a spotter, who was to warn us when the c4-ed flag was going down. ![]() Then I believe the spotter was killed, and I saw the flag go down. I yelled blow it and on the flag, gogogo and all that jazz, and they stormed on the flag, with lots of noise and wiped the flag! Simply awesome, thanks a lot squad! Note how the flag is almost all the way up for the Germans! ![]() The next map was the one with the castle where we guarded the village fiercely at first. We were then wiped off and came back with the armor squad again. Since friendly forces had retaken it, we changed into a roving armor squad, holding in the center of the map, and supporting other squads and taking out armor where needed. ![]() ![]() It's just awesome to see such a full armor squad move, and then annihilate any armor with ease since they come with one or two tanks at a time. Very good games that were fun and pretty balanced.

Re: Orel 02/05/07
I played for the first time in about a month or so and had a really good time. Was squadded up w/ Cuervo, Santa, Jaymind, and a couple others I can't remember. My PC crashed, so I took that as a cue that I should go make dinner, so sorry for the abrupt exit!
The highlight of my night must have been watching Jay drive an APC right into the drink. I kept expecting it to start floating... until the turret disappeared underwater. ![]() |

Re: Orel 02/05/07
Ya, Evo... Great game on Rivne(32). We kept the Town locked down tight.
That thing with the APC was funny as hell... All I heard over comms was something like: "Oh, crap this doesn't float" followed by a lot of laughter. BigGayAl and I shared many shots and our squad was finally able to push you all off that ridge on Berezne once I brought up the Anti-Mat riffle... man I love that gun sometimes. Fun night all around. |
