PR mod Feb 13, 2007
Corp and GB, squad 1 DefendVOP (20:00-21:30) Really good gameplay was experienced with my first time back in action. I started in the last 1/3 of I. Forest. Moderate lag here and there. O.k. All five squads were full, so I had to grab my old N.C.O. tags and slap them on by creating a squad. I after defending village a little (solo), I had good radio communications with the CO Dirt. That was a good start. Later Al joined up, and seconds later the squad was nearly full. By the time we started clicking the round was over. PLA, won with ease. Nice part was when I spotted a close sniper (30 meters), and said, destroy him. Well, the whole squad ran over there and beat the tar out of him (they moved in close and sprayed him down big time). I was hoping for more of mantis approach, i.e, take a knee and one shot one kill. I think Al stayed back, and got a good laugh at of it also. A nice part was when I accepted the C.O. order to head to the far western flag (meat grinder) and I choose boats as transportation. I took point on foot, and just as I came over the crest to see the boats at the dock, I heard a boat, to may amazement, it was full of PLA, and they were landing! It was funny, cause I said: Their in the boat! Frag the boat! Frag the boat. We handled those guys nicely. The round ended before we could move to the west. ______ The next map, Phoenix. I elected to step down, because I did not know the game well. Warpstar, took command and did a great job. Phoenix is awesome. Very little lag. As the medic I laid back and let the big guns do the fighting. However, I need to see more aggressiveness with the grunts. If everyone is taking cover, then we are blind. Besides the SL, and medic, a warrior needs to keep returning fire and or getting an idea of the enemies location. We were not totally suppressed not to do so. We and the team had a rough go, with assaulting, but the action was intense, and we all learned a lot of things. {Those A.P.C. flag pushes are awesome. Well coordinated assaults are more possible with a fair amount of troops spawning in. Troublesome, lead squad 7 the A.P.C. squad. How did things go?} A cool moment, is when I got a lucky medic shock paddle kill, by crawling through the smoke and seeing and hearing the MECS (I have my sound set to hear foreign languages). After that myself and another player sprayed the knee high grass, we picked up some kills, but were overran. {Business is picking up for the recon personnel. Having eyes on locations were squads are moving is a must.} {Bonding watch will need to be more frequent. I call it the Support/flankers squad. {You almost need a squad to box out the opponent on getting flanks.} After my first full game, I moved up to 10th in the points. My kill/death was ok also. _______ Operation Compton. I did a tactics write up on this, and looks like Warp read the entire thing. (J.K., who did?) Well, the lag was awful. We lost about 20 players because of it, but toward the end it started acting better. We defended South flag, and did a great job. We lost it once, but with the help of another squad, we got it back. I originally went anti-rifleman, but after we lost the flag, went corpsman. The squad really put the lock down on the south side of the map. I was disappointed in that much of the Platoon started adventuring out to the east. Dudes, we spent like 12 hours fortifying the place, and you are going to walk out side the wire and hit them? But, not good ol DefendVOP squad 1. However, Warp send out a detail to destroy their Rally point to our southeast. The tanks added a nice tough. The cracks of the bullets hitting sonic boom, was cool. I had a good game with an impressive kill death ratio. I climbed up to third in the points, with the most heals and revives. The squad blew the enemy away with over three hundred more points as best squad for the GB. I decided to call it a night after that. Well done Squad 1. Warpstar=SL Al= Assistant SL Ric= medic Sergeant_Wright=warrior Pfc. Rapaki=warrior Other= great job here also.

Nice AAR Rick.
Thanks to Gunjunkie for stepping up as CO for US in later maps. He ordered all pilots to get together in a squad to effectively coordinate ground and air forces and I guess it worked very well. Dont hesitate to step up as CO. Especially if an admin is on. We will make sure your orders will be followed to the letter. After kind reminders and a few kicks (if necessary) you will see the significant improvement in game quality. Everyone will be following orders and TG style gameplay will surface. It just needs to be started by someone and CO is the man. |

Quote:
.A few of these players can really, really ruin a game. That said we did have some nice games and funny moments like the sniper rick mentioned and the boat. I think the quote on the boat was something like "Guys get in this boat here, hey it's occupied, hey there's people in it already, hey they're enemies, the boat's full of enemies!, come take em out!" On the sniper I was actually one of the three guys that rushed on him from three different sides and sprayed him on the exact same moment. The headshot is not really my style. High ping players tend to gravitate towards weapons that fire a lot of rounds per second .On operation Compton: please remove the map from rotation. Is is laggy as hell, let's see after the serverpatch? On Ghost train: please remove it as well. It crashes EVERY time near the end. Muttrah: same, too imbalanced. I'd rather even see Helmand province back then the three previous ones. After all, all you have to do is destroy the landrover.

Your suggestions noted Al. Thanks for the feedback. I'll get back to you guys after discussing things with other PR admins.
I have seen MEC attacking US carrier (UCB) on Oman two days ago and after couple of warnings, kicks and bans, MEC side respected our server rules. Last edited by John CANavar; 02-14-2007 at 12:35 PM. |

I like the helo warm up time, but on helo insertion maps the timings are all way off for pub play. It requires skilled pilots who waste no time to get the landings going correctly.

Re: PR mod Feb 13, 2007 (late evening)
Our server will not remain a pub play server for long.. As we grow our playerbase and the rest of TG discovers the potential for teamplay on this mod, I expect we'll see very efficient manuevers by the appropriate transport squads as well as other enhancements in overall gameplay.
