PR 15 feb - Al Basrah
After a very shaky start for our team, John_C stepped up as CO, and the USMC finally got it's game on.
We not only had a dedicated A10 squad, we also appeared to have dedicated tank and helo squads. At no point did we manage to get past the first control group, but the team was reasonably responsive to CO orders, and we worked well at trying to overcome the sterling defense put up by the insurgents. There's a huge amount of work to do with the specialist air squads, but the standard of play has come on leaps and bounds in the past week. People have started to get to grips with all the changes, and it really shows. We were able to worry about the objective tonight, rather than how to make things work. We may have lost, but this was probably the best US performance I've seen on our server since 0.5 launched. Good inter-squad comms via the CO, good team players in the squads (at least the 2 I SL'd), and generally a great atmosphere on the server. I would name my squad members, but there were quite a few over the course of the hour or so the map took. E-male was there (mostly trying to keep me alive), but I think most or all of the rest were pubbies. I'll be back for more tomorrow night.

Didn't someone quote you saying, "Welcome to TG. Feel free to punctuate your sentences correctly."?
Anyways, British folly aside, will you be able to teach me to fly tomorrow night during the 8pm-[indefinite] session?

Re: PR 15 feb - Al Basrah
I really enjoyed the Al Basrah round tonight. It lasted for what seemed like ages.
I thought I'd have a go in the A10, and boy do I love that thing! I did try to get all the helos and the other A10 into a dedicated airforce squad, but the team in one helo just didnt want to join for some reason. I had good coms with John once he stepped up as CO and he was letting me know where to let rip with my new found baby. Anyhow, by the end of the round I had 120 kills, 2 deaths (both from clipping obsticles after diving in ) and 2800 points! Methinks the opposition needed to man the AA a bit better! I must apoligise to E-Male and the rest of his squad when I accidently wiped them out though, the vehicle they were driving in shown up as an enemy and I caught it in the corner of my eye, turned sharply, but by the time I realised they were friendlies, it was too late! So I'm sorry for that one. But server crashes/CTD's aside, I had some GG's tonight, And I too will be back for some more tomorrow ![]()

Re: PR 15 feb - Al Basrah
Ground assault squads are definitely going to have to learn patience on these maps. The SL not only needs to call the abort, but also needs to wait for the message to be relayed, and then wait for confirmation from the planes to be relayed back via the CO.
The A10s should be used to enable multiple squads to position around a target area. We need to seriously look at employing UH60's flying around these targets once the A10s are called off.
