Played in a dedicated air squad twice yesterday, once during prime-time and once later at night. I feel the need to share the awesomeness of the late-night experience however. Long after the
TG names had left the server, we were still going strong at 60 players, and the best part, teamwork en masse.
I was SL'ing USMC airforce squad, with 6 people, who unfortunately I can't remember names, but there was astounding teamwork. All my orders were followed to a T. The commander of USMC was awesome, visCera, did an expert job of using my air assets.
An exert from the battle.
USMC had village and north VCP and it was time to hit south VCP. Squads 1, 2, 4, and 5 hit South VCP from the north by fighting across the bridge using armor support. Mobile spawn points on their flanks harassed their progress, but the commander quickly relayed their locale from the battle lines to me, and they were number one priority for our cobras. Squad 7 with the A-10's made bombing run after bombing run on south VCP, clearing it out and shutting down their AA. The cobra's were able to circle the flanks and keep opfor suppressed and stop any flanking maneuvers on squads 1, 2, 4 and 5. Squad three was picked up by our blackhawk pilot at north VCP and routed down to just south of south VCP, to hit it from the rear. Squad 7 made a few runs first to clear an LZ. After deploying it's cargo, the blackhawk resumed its overwatch around north VCP, holding off would-be flag cappers with its one minigun while our commander would quickly cyphon off a squad from the assault at south to chase away northern attackers.
Best round of teamwork I've ever played with no
TG around, hats off to the gentlemen last night. Just proving that our PR server is improving, people are starting to realize teamwork and things are getting going. Looks like the best is yet to come.
