Otus Bug in v1.2

Heads up...there's a problem with the Otus drone. It will kill you when you deploy it.

Standing still, or when there's a roof over your head, if you try to deploy the Otus, it blows up and you are stuck watching your respawn counter. No revives...you are KILLED.

Only way I've been able to get it to deploy without killing me is by moving in the open.

Happened to me enough times to figure out when it happens, and happened to LuckyStrike when he SLed a bit later.

Don't know if it also occurs with the Gun drone or not...anyone who can confirm what I'm seeing, please make sure I'm not crazy.

yup. this is definitely the case. it sucks. even when it doesn't kill you, sometimes it takes 5-20 health or just explodes all together.

i was unable to be revived when this happend 2 out of the 4 times. this is a known bug in the 1.2 beta that ea forums is reporting was fixed.

I was reading the EA forums a while ago and turns out that this was a KNOWN bug reported to EA by the 1.19b public testers!

Looks like we got a re-titled beta version, folks. Now THAT pisses me off.

How do they do this? A huge game, a large team of programmers, and something like this skips out into a patch?

The right gun of the transport isnt working. Can hti someone streight in the head and he get no damage. Someone on beta said "oh lag issue" and moved it to resolved issues i think...

I've experienced the exploding Otus bug too - I just posted in another thread about it, oops. Anyways yes, about 75% of the time last night, my Otus exploded right after deploying. This happened when I was under scaffolding, and also out in the open.

I never died from the explosion though, whether I was under a structure or not.

This kinda sucks since so many of our veteran SL's depend on the Otus nowadays. I suppose the only workaround for now is for all Support soliders to be on the alert for when SL's request ammo. They may need another drone to replace their dud and so will need more time to stock up than normal.

I've not used the gun drone yet, I'll only get to play again in a few days. If the gun drone doesn't suffer from this problem, another workaround may be to use the gun drone with an IDS-1 stuck to it.

You might as well all start using the gun drone and have a support slap an ids on it. Best of both worlds, only youll ahve to look on the map as you wont see the diamonds
