Thumbs up Cerebre Landing European/PAC Standoff

All I can say is that I am very pleased with how my squad performed. It was a pitched battle between those holding Roadblock and those coming up the hill from Church and South Town Center.

I missed the first screen shot by seconds, but this motly crew was one of the most efficient squads I ever led.

Thanks for posting my horrible Kill to death ratio there. But seriously it was a fun round. I was one heal point away from getting my gold medic badge but other than that it was good.

Re: Cerebre Landing European/PAC Standoff

I am glad someone decided to mention this particular round, as it was the most fun I have had playing Battlefield 2142 in a long time. What amazed me is how well everyone in our squad worked together to setup a defense on the eastern flank with practically no communication over VoIP. It seemed as though we all just instinctively knew what had to be done and did it, which is astounding for a squad that was formed just before the start of the round.

I remember the Commander directing squads Two and Three quite a bit (we were squad Five). They were on the western approach. I was very pleased with the fact that we had the eastern flank so well sewn up that he didn't have to provide direction, despite the fact that I distinctly recall the beginning being something along the lines of...

"What's up guys. So what's the plan Squad Leader?"

Pause.

"Oh hey, how did I become squad leader?" (Apparently the SL disconnected)

Sip of my martini.

"Okay guys, here's the plan. We're going to... spawn in on me because the game just started and I have no plan."

Re: Cerebre Landing European/PAC Standoff

This was an awesome game. The squad I was in was spawning in the east right above church and all I did was revive someone, shoot some rockets, repeat.

You were spamming us and we were spamming you. That game was a real bleeder for both teams.

Ya, that was great. It was just a rocket and support gun fight. That's the first time I've seen a serious standoff between roadblock and the south. We actually had no intention of moving forward as the ticket count was moving our way, and just about everyone got revived

Re: Cerebre Landing European/PAC Standoff

I liken it to a fistfight where both dudes are just standing there pummelling each other repeatedly. It was a toe to toe endurance test to see who would falter first.

It was repeated about two hours later, as discussed in this thread

Re: Cerebre Landing European/PAC Standoff

Very intense round, right up there with the other crazy Cerbere round.

I definitely noticed the impact of the new "mini-uav" unlock as every attempt to flank was met with ready and waiting defenders.

Man... sounds like they really ruined the game w/ this patch!! (Or at least turned it into a VERY different game from the rest of the battlefield series.) PoE2 removed the UAV because it hampered tactics... now EA's gone and added a second one! sweet

Based on these comments (from here):
"...and if that wasnt enough, the Clark-12 RDX, dusnt replace your standard clark, its an entirely new weapon, like rifle rockets are to the assult rifles, the C12RDX is to the clark, u can use both in the same kit, just scroll down and u can bring out the RDX version

this allso means, LMG/Ganz + RDX Clark combo, for total OMGWTFHAX

in a single spawn, you can be equiped with a hugely powerful long range LMG or Ganz, PLUS a Clark-12 explosive RDX shotgun, PLUS ether a sentry turret or infantry sonar device, ammo box, knife, pistol, unlimited nades

could support BE anymore awesome?"
... I'd say they're really tailoring to the lone-wolf crowd. Talk about an "Army of One"...

Re: Cerebre Landing European/PAC Standoff

The only problem with that post though is that all the RDX shotgun is a flare gun. Unless you shoot someone with it from behind it's almost impossible to kill someone with it. You can shoot someone and they can look at the big ball of fire coming at them, watch it land then move out of its range.

Re: Cerebre Landing European/PAC Standoff

The RDX gun is totally useless. The only thing the new unlocks bring to the support is the IDS.
