Same old Dalian. It was even at 3 flag apiece, but after awhile it dwindled down to 4-2 in favor of UKR, and then 5-1 UKR. And we all know what happens when Germany/USA has no flags on the mainland. I think that's what it ended up as. I'd rather play this map than Kubra.

Jeeps used to bust all over this map flipping back flags in whack-a-mole style and I didn't see any of that tonight. I think people forgot how to move on the map. I feared that the helicopters for the German side would own the map. I mean they have 2 fighters, 2 attack copters (reactor towers) and the 2 transport choppers with missles. In fact, it was the Ukranian side who made much better use of their choppers, IMO.
I did hear some complaints about the air, but they came from squads who chose to defend flags that didn't have AA capability. We know which flags those are and frankly, the fixed AA is so much better then it EVER was on BF2. Specifically though, the fixed AA at the Main Entrance can tear up armor coming out of the main as well as jeeps, choppers, etc... That probably needs to be adjusted. Lucky Shot |

I was running around in the mig and had decent success taking down all those choppers flying around. Should have done better but I was flying low too much at the start. Looked like Anubis was causing lots of trouble in the hind but what else is new...
BTW I did notice the lack of back flag capture by the two teams...that surprised me a bit. The map pretty much played out in a frontlines mode till the end there.

One problem I see is that the German transport chopper's offensive capabilities actually become a hinderance. It's virtually never used for transport because there's always some jackass that flies off with it and tries to use it as an attack helo. I really think there should be an SOP about using the transport helo like this, because time and time again I see it being used in a very non "near-simulation" sort of manner.
