Is there a way to fix PB when it refuses to auto update?
Right now I'm stuck doing manual updates which works until the next time there is a PB update and then I end up getting kicked mid-round. How do you get the auto update working again?

yes...let me find you the site
http://www.evenbalance.com/index.php?page=pbsetup.php that is a seperate program that will update all your games that use Pb. edit: crap i should have read all your post....um im not sure....

Use the manual PB update from EvenBalance.
Just download it and run the EXE. You'll then have to select your game where you installed it (the 2142 .exe) then click Update. The program will do the rest.
