Gunship! Orrr... not.

I tried making a gunship squad on Verdun, but it didn't work out so well. Someone else on the team kept grabbing it before I could even get close enough. So me and my would-be gunner Skidakilla used something else. The buggy!

I drove as a support, he gunned as an engineer. We ran all over the map tank hunting with ridiculous effectiveness. Tanks would ignore us, so we'd run up behind them, I'd stop, he'd get the 1-shot kill on it, and we'd blaze on. I got 10 teamwork points just for driver assists, and he got a bunch of kills.

More fun than the gunship I think. Next stop, the Hachimoto!

Re: Gunship! Orrr... not.

FAV tactics are really maturing in Verdun. They are very troublesome to Armor, even if they are just popping motion mines off of the rear deck in a drive-by mine laying kind of way.

Armored columns which park up against the town wall next to Church are asking to be reamed over and over as FAVs dart out from complete cover behind the city wall, into the open and crack open the tanks like nutshells.

The other night one prominent TG player was screaming over and over for his tank machine gunners to watch for buggies .. but guess what .. they pop out from cover so fast, you are dead before the gunners can aquire and destroy an FAV.

I suppose this goes to show exactly why tanks NEED infantry support. Sure, in 2142, any infantry "guarding" tanks will be completely obliterated by walkers, over and over ... but there you have it.

Re: Gunship! Orrr... not.

Man that was a good time. I got pretty adept at switching back and forth from gunner seat to back seat to repair or administer Pilum enemas.

I just couldn't believe that none of the tanks we came up behind seemed even the least bit concerned. We got more attention from armor half way across the map than we ever did from our victims.

Great job getting behind those guys and turning the FAV away so I could get a perfect straight shot off by the way. Some damn fine drivin' there.

Dedicated squads are also part of teamwork. If the same person keeps taking over your assets and you are trying to use and wait for them, then you may contact a admin because they are not playing as a team.
