"Building houses" 3D browser game

http://mathsnet.net/geometry/solid/houses.html

"The idea is to build up the solid shape indicated by the views to the left - but only using the number of cubes given. There are 10 problems, called figuur1 to figuur10. Be warned: they are not easy."

If you get a green bullet in front of the figuur# text, it means your formation matches the pictures but has too many or too few blocks.
A yellow bullet indicates that it matches the pictures AND has the right amount of cubes.

Re: "Building houses" 3D browser game

Challenging game. I checked it out because "figuur" is Dutch in case you wondered and I wanted to know whether it was a typo.

Something fun to try; men are statistically a lot better on this kind of thing. You can compare with your girl/guy and have a laugh. Then when she gets too frustrated, propose this game: choose a word and name as many synonyms as you can. Now the girl should be whooping the guy's ass.

I did figure 8 with 16 cubes. How can you do it with 12?

Re: "Building houses" 3D browser game

I got all ten. Easiest way to do it (from my perspective) is to fill the top and front views, then break blocks down to achieve the right view.

And neph, heres how you do it with 16:

Sordave - You only need 2 cubes on the top level and 2 on the bottom. When I get home tonight I will post a picture of a 12 cube Figuur 8

FB - Yeah, went back with a fresh perspective and figured out 8. Sometimes you just need to take a step back and look again.

I had no idea you could stack them in the air like that. I was assuming gravity. This makes it so much easier, and even possible.

Re: "Building houses" 3D browser game

10th one was fun because you cant just place all the blocks then break them down by the diagrams, bit more of a challenge. The rest of them you kind of just have to remove the extra blocks.
