AAR: May 2nd, cerbere "look at all those diamonds"
This video was taken on may 2nd. It is sort of long, at 15 minutes and 200 MB. But is is fairly entertaining.
video format is windows media video (.wmv). click here to download the video:cerbere.wmv The site it is hosted on has decent download speed, so it should not take too long. The video shows a hard fought assault on southtown, roadblock, church, roadblock again (unsuccessful this time) , then command center. There are several points where I try to point out strategy and tactics, it is educational in that regard. I hope you enjoy it.

Nice video. At one point in the video, when you guys are getting command center, you throw your medkit back down, causing the earlier one to explode. To get a heal much faster, just leave the one already on the ground and hold the second in your hands. Expanding on this, whenever you have a assault kit lying around after a soldier dies, you can pick it up, toss the kit, and switch to your own and toss yours too. The medkits are connected to the kit themselves, so you can have more medkits at once. I've had like 3 around me once healing a bunch of people incredibly fast, very useful.
Oh yeah, and I love the X-Fi in this game. Hearing those beacons so far away is incredibly useful. I heard a guy repairing a walker about 75m away once and got a "free" walker out of it.

Ahh ok. Yeah, it definitly has its places, just figured since he was in the back chilling and waiting he'd take advantage of that.

Re: AAR: May 2nd, cerbere "look at all those diamonds"
I prefer to have my gun out and ready at all times. thats why I ran at half health towards roadblock towards the start of the video with my gun out rather than a health box.
when attacking comand center, I saw the box there, but did not know if it was mine or not. I figured, if it is mine, i just replace it, if it is from one of my guys, I now have two in the same spot. either way, you will rarely catch me defenseless just holding a box.

The slight brightness of the vid gave me a bit of a headache, personally I would lower the brightness, but all in all the vid. was absolutely great. Good work and i wish i could be there for the next time.

Re: AAR: May 2nd, cerbere "look at all those diamonds"
part of the brightness is probably from the settings I use in game. I typically run with lighting on low and turn things down a notch when I am recording fraps.
I am using windows movie maker to produce these, and have no idea if there is a way to control brightness. two things I dislike about windows movie maker is there is no way to adjust the level of music playing during certain portions of the vidio. it is just a universal volume for the entire song. another issue is the inability to zoom and pan without buying a plugin.

Quote:
Pan and Zoom you cant do it in WMM Brightness right click on the video in the timeline, then video effects, then brightness increase or decrease Song Volume Click on the song track, then click clip/split, that cuts the song sound track, like when you cut a video segment. You can make multiple splits to create many segments. I did this on invisible squad and then zoomed in the timeline and turned down the volume of the music whenever there was talking (right click on music segment and volume adjust). I did this so that the music was as loud as possible without getting in the way of the voices, took about 1.5 hrs for the whole film. This was really micro managing the sound but you get the idea.

you can view the googlevideo version of this here:
http://video.google.com/videoplay?do...92904046&hl=en it is much poorer video quality than the one listed in the link for the orignal post. download speeds are pretty slow on the original link right now.
