Talking Where art thou?

Boy, it's been nearly 2 years since BF2 has been out and we've had a fair number of regulars come and go on our servers. Let's see if bringing their names up might smoke them out and bring them back for a round or two!

Who do guys remember having incredible times with, but can't quite seem to find them on the server any more?

Re: Where art thou?

GUNRACK! That guy was freakin' awesome.

Evil Lemon. He PMed me a long time ago, and i think he basically said hes busy with college or something. Not sure.

Thundeer. He'll probably be back in a while though.

Mishkan. Where did he disappear to?

Homan. I think he was part of the 12th. Either way, funny pothead (i assume he was anyway ) that everyone liked.

Re: Where art thou?

Phil21
When I first stumbled across the vanilla TG server, I was new to the game and I almost didn't come back because joining a TG squad (in game) was hit and miss.
If I hit it was great and I would end up wanting to come back, if I missed then the rest of the squads were like any other pub squad from any other server so meh why come back, especially since that meant getting owned by a TG squad or watching a TG squad work as a group while my squad foundered.
About this time Phil21 was heading Learn TG squads, thus I found a squad that would let me in, played teamwork style and an SL who took the time to talk the squad through what that meant.
When we played on opposite teams we would even send each other little love messages: "nice Phil ", "good to see you Phil", "ha, I'm glad I saw you first :}"
One day I realized he was not on the server any longer. Looking on the forums I found no good bye or other indication he was leaving. He just up and disappeared and must have paid a year supporting membership about the time he left because as of today he is still a supporting member. I sent a PM to him, but never received a response.

Now when I think of him I am reminded of both my mortality and the anonymity of the internet.

Where are:

Strike Fear?
B?
Wulfyn?
DrunkenSoul?
Faultline?

Too many to name, actually. Just going back 18 months in the forums brings back so many memories.. <sniff>

Re: Where art thou?

I don't see Marstein on these days. Though I do see an occasional forum post. He was in the first squad I played in on TG and quickly became one of the top notch players. He started around the same time I did.

Remember playing with Deveran...now banned...but what an experience joining up with him, huh?

Haven't been in a round with Sassy in quite a while. Always enjoyed fighting alongside her....always an team asset, especially in CQC.

Someone else already mentioned B.

so many others....too bad I can't remember them.

Re: Where art thou?

I still see even the long lost people make an appearance every now and then.

Some names come to mind right away...

Missing (from BF2):
- Evil Lemon
- Strikefear
- Smoking Tarpan
- B
- Phelan Ward
- munchkin
- AntiVisual (may have changed name?)

Been sighted:
- Robocop has been on recently
- Cymba made a couple of appearances recently

Heheh... I'm thinking that including someone who plays regularly could be insulting. I know that many of the missing people launched themselves into space about 18 months ago, never to be seen in this galaxy again.

Edit: wow, I just scanned through some old threads and found a dozen more MIA names... Jusb, Xink, RangerSix, etc...

Re: Where art thou?

Evil Lemon, Robocop, JimmyTwoHand, Snail, Kilrogg, Arf, perry, Bommando, Gixxer, FPS_Douglas, Bodofooko, Barracuda Magoo, ed_chiang....there's so many.

I know Bommando is all over 2142, but it would be cool to see him come back to BF2 land. Snail I think still plays but I hardly ever see him.

Re: Where art thou?

Great post, I was just thinking about this. Hardly any of the people who played BF2 here when it first came out seem to play anymore. It is a shame because those games sure were fun. Those guys seemed to be the best guys to play with. It is a shame the new guys here never got to play with them, I think it could have really shown them a great time and a different TG. The server seems exhausting now without them.

A lot of the guys have been mentioned already. Deveran sure was "interesting" and "educational." Robocop needs to play more, Penguineer you as well. Great guys already mentioned, a lot of fine times in Vanilla were had and shall be missed.
