Not sure if this has been posted, or even where it belongs... just heard about this HL2 total conversion about a month ago... and going to be free, coming in June...and looks very nice...

The thread is buried somewhere in here. I check it now and then but its usually nothing more than people flaming each other over what weapons should be in and how they believe the mod should be setup.

It definitely looks worth reinstalling steam when it comes out.

If you look at the website now, the front page says that the mod is very close to release. I can't wait to play it when I get my graphics card.

I've been following this mod off and on for 2 years now. They've finally gotten it together and looks like it'll be released very soon, perhaps this weekend. Hope it lives up to the expectation.

Supposedly the installer is being compiled right now and then it will be uploaded to fileplanet. You only need the core half-life 2 engine to play it, which i think is $20. I'm confused about what's needed, but the mod itself is free and the half-life 2 part will cost $20 at the most, I think.

At the peak of anticipation, they had almost 1,000 people on their forums waiting to hear the word.

And let me say, thank goodness for TG. The vast majority of the most vocal people over at their forums have been utterly, boringly ridiculous.

ok, downloading now. i'm only number 1238 in line, 63 minute wait to start downloading. heh.

some tester or developer said this game was best 8 vs. 8, but it goes to 16 vs. 16 I believe. Let's get some TG action started this week sometime.

It uses Source SDK Base to run, so you just need to own any Source game. (which includes that Dark Messiah RPG)
