To Forgive or Not to Forgive

The poll is private, so be honest

Okay, whenever I am teamkilled (quite often here lately) I alway forgive. I thought that was the rule, always forgive accidental teamkills. Seems like whenever I accidentally teamkill someone, they punish me. At this point I have all the unlocks I want so points don't really matter to me but it irritates me when this happens. Is the rule not punish teamkills? If not, I am not forgiving anymore, no one else does. I have even had a guy, in the same round, teamkill me, I forgive, then later in the round I teamkill him and he punishes. WTH.

Punishes do nothing point wise. They only add up to the punkbuster kick system (i.e.: too many punishes and you get kicked). Pubbies punish for everything.

Re: To Forgive or Not to Forgive

for me it depends on the situation, if I know the kill was intentional then I will punish, if I can see that it was accidental then I will forgive. If I'm not sure then I will wait for them to apologise for the kill, if they don't apologise then I punish.

If I get tk'd 3 times by the same guy whose name I don't recognize - I punish. But that never really happens...

Re: To Forgive or Not to Forgive

Since I found TG I never punish for TK's.

The main reason I do not punish is because, I've rounded too many corners and forgot what team I was on, and blatantly TK'd someone, then I realize what a noob I am and send two sorry messages. So I figure even if it looks deliberate, it could just be a mistake.

Re: To Forgive or Not to Forgive

I will never punish if it was clearly my fault. Say, I ran in front of someone firing. I would never punish if I ran onto a flag and then someone hit it with a grenade. Unfortunatelly these things happen and they are annoying but 99% of people don't mean to do it.

It's the people who will TK for Jets (vBF2) or the restricted kits (PR) that the punish option is for IMO.

Re: To Forgive or Not to Forgive

I have a problem, I automatically forgive...

It's only afterwards I realize it was intentional. :\

I feel the same way, I'll only ever punish if a get tk'd by the same person multiple times and the situation could have been avoided.

The only time I really wish you could punish is when your commander drops an OS on top of your squad to kill one hostile hiding behind a crate that you are advancing on...

Re: To Forgive or Not to Forgive

Seriously in the heat of action I dont care for punishing ppl. I just press somewhere near the PGUP/PGDOWN region to get rid of the message and go on with the battle.

I think i accidently punished quite a few ppl

Seriously I never saw someone kicked from just punishes. Stop making a big deal out of the matter and focus on playing

I dont punish anyone. I dont think I've ever played a round without being TKed actually. If it's intentional, then I report it. If not, I could care less and call for a medic.

I wasn't. I just asked a question to see how others dealt with the situation.

Re: To Forgive or Not to Forgive

It really depends. If the guy doesn't think and just blows me away knowing full well I'm a friendly: yes. Otherwise, probably: no.

There should be a third option that reads: Depends on situation.

Same here...

I think I can count the number of times I've punished someone on a Tactical Gamer server on my hand.
