Just joined the community and I have to say I'm extremely impressed and happy. I've been looking for a community this orginized since my days back in Day of Defeat. Hopefully I can meet some really cool people who like to play games and use communication and tactics for once. Since I got Battlefield 2 a week ago, I've been going crazy with the way people play the game. No orginized squads, no good CO's, nothing. Stupid people who put artillary strikes right on the point that I just captured. I almost gave this game to a buddy till I found this community. Now I just need to get the two booster packs and I'll be all set. If I broke any rules by posting this sorry in advance, I read all the forum rules and didn't see anything about posting a hello message. So I thought I'd say hi, and if anyone has any insights or wants to help a new person in the community im open to suggestions. Good Gaming

We don't play the BF2 vanilla boosters(or vanilla period) anymore so don't waste your money.

Do you play with just PoE2 now? If thats the case thanks for the heads up....anymore advice fir a noob(ahhh I hate that term but I have to admit I'm new to this game)

We have servers for POE2, Project Reality and two servers for 2142.

which one do you recommend? And if i download one(PoE2 right now) what else do I have to download to to play? And lastly should I do teamspeak or just use the Voip thats already in the game? Sorry for all the questions and thanks for the help.

I recommend trying both bf2 mods...they are free...why not try both. You can stick to whichever one you prefer after the initial trial period. As for 2142...depends if you want to buy it. Try the demo...read some reviews...watch some vids.(squadplay vids from TG members in our forums would be a good start)

What do you need to download? Check the POE and PR subforums...there should be a sticky in each forum that tells ya exactly what you need. Basically just the main installer package. Not to mention other good stickies that will give various other good info.

Using Voip is the standard for all our BF series servers. Teamspeak is only used for contacting admins and between round chatter.

Hey thanks alot Mantis for taking the time to answer my questions. Im not going to get 2142 because I am playing BF2 on my laptop and I doubt it will be able to run that. Im almost done downloading PoE2 so hopefully i can get on and learn the ropes tonight, but with graduation tommorrow morning I doubt that will be possible. Anyway thanks for helping me out and get all this set up, and if you have any other advise for me I'm always listening.

Just note that POE is currently on life support due to lack of content updates so our server only sees action during US primetime. These days the population count can sometimes be pretty depressing depending how the night goes.:/ 32 player maps tend to be the norm. For example today its monday so the server is actually already dead for the night. I'm definitely not trying to turn you off to the mod...its actually my game of choice since its release and you'll surely meet me in game. Just understand the situation going in and the fact that it will likely be this way until the next update finally hits. ("soon")

Thanks for that. So Ill just get both and play the other until the action picks back up. I just have to get away from all the lack of team work on BF2 at all costs!
