I got this a lot but I thought it was due to Window Vista nVidia drivers. Of course you have XP so I'm not sure that would be your problem. If you don't update windows regularly try running this update:

People say it helps them.

Also other solutions say to change your page file size to minimum of 2048 and a maximum of 4096.

well it only comes wid some maps not all of them

Just something I would try:

I would suggest uninstalling the game completely, removing everything associated with BF2142, install all MS patches and updates, then reinstall 2142, Norther Strike (if applicable), and patch up 2142 to current. Try it out again and see if the questionable maps still cause this error.

I haven't gone through the links Zoopy provided, but it would probably be wise to do so and see what they say. And/or try google using the first few works of the error, verbatim and in quotes, and see what you get - maybe add 2142 outside of the quotes as well...

If you uninstall the game, don't forget to clear out the BF2142 folder in your "My Documents".
