ATI Catalyst 7.5 (Hotfix for ArmA) Released 07 Jun

For some users the handle leak has been fixed completely. For others, the leak is vastly reduced:

For further information, and the Hotfix download go: HERE

(I tried to amend the subject header of the 7.5 release thread - but I couldn't. So just in case anyone misses this release, I have started this new thread)!

Re: ATI Catalyst 7.5 (Hotfix for ArmA) Released 07 Jun

As a footnote. DirectX had a June 07 update. However, the question is, would it benefit ArmA?

Suma (BIS Lead programmer) had this to say:

"There is no need to download this, as it will not change anything. The core DX9.0 runtime is stable since original 9.0c release, and has not changed since then. The only thing which is changing now is the utility library.

The only thing used from the utility library by Armed Assault is the shader compiler. To use the update utility, the game exe needs to be recompiled. As the only important thing which ArmA is using from the utility library is the HLSL compiler, and its 9.0 version is already stable and not being updated any more, no update both on your or our side would change anything
."

Re: ATI Catalyst 7.5 (Hotfix for ArmA) Released 07 Jun

This driver/hotfix ruined my BF2. I had to roll back to some very old drivers I happened to have still saved to get BF2 to run again. All other games worked however. Tonight I'm going to try just the 7.5 drivers and see if I can run BF2 and ArmA without the hotfix.
