AAR Video: 1stMIP Road Trip

From a few nights ago. E-Male squad leading the 1stMIP at Al B.

Not great drama, only captures my voice as SL. To avoid enemy we moved around the entire periphery of the map and stayed in tact while doing so. Very few, if any allied squads bothered to defend a flag this round (not too unusual). Eight minutes long, unedited.

1stMIP Road Trip

Note: with Google videos use the lower right hand icon to select tiny screen with good resolution, medium screen with crappy resolution, or large screen with extra crappy resolution.

Nice one E-male! It's too bad that Fraps can't record your voice and the game sounds/VOIP at the same time.

Re: AAR Video: 1stMIP Road Trip

I have never played BF2 so I probably don't know what I am talking about but why did you spend 5 minutes driving around and then another 2 before engaging any enemies? It seems to me that your team was playing down a squad while you guys were off looking at cacti. Also by the time you reached your destination the rest of your team was already there anyway.

I also noticed that you were looking at your map screen for about 1 and a half minutes out of the 8 minute video which caused you to be unaware that there was an APC right next to you. How come you don't play as commander?

But like I said I have not played the game so I probably shouldn't even say anything. Maybe you were just being very tactical.

Thanks for the video. I always enjoy having something to watch while I am at work.

Re: AAR Video: 1stMIP Road Trip

Oh c'mon Jonan... It was only 4 min 35 sec

1stMIP procedures and operations include tactical (within game context) and role-playing (simulation) elements. We try to balance these two to enjoy the games the way we want to play but also help our team to secure a victory. Sometimes, one or the other element is more stressed. Depends on situation.

What you watched is just one way of reaching to objective. An extremely cautious approach which didnt provide a tactical advantage here but it could have. If friendly squads had failed to reach target from South (expected direction of approach), that spawn car we brought there was going to open a new, unexpected flank.
