Server Down?

server shutdown: conquest server
date: june 13th, 2007
time: 4 PM Eastern Standard Time

For unknown reasons, the conquest server crashed. Error notes came for lost connection; when on tried to log back on to the server, the Battlefield 2142 server details labled the server as unusable because of generated errors.

the server crashed around 4 pm EST and then went completely off line today. the servers affected include the 2142 conquest, 2142 NS, and even the PR server for BF2.

just wondering what is going on.

Yes its down and didn't reboot itself. We're investigating to get it up again.

There is currently a problem in the Virginia datacenter. This affects most of our Battlefield servers. Our BF2 servers (including mods) are all hosted in Virginia. WOLFServers also has their boxes in the same datacenter as ours, so our 2142 Ranked servers are also affected.

I have a K6-2 box running Ubuntu that could host until the problem is resolved!

But really, it's good to know that the issue is known and a solution is in progress. Hopefully the outage isn't too serious.

We are gonna sue right? This means hours and hours of valuable action down the drain for several hundreds people!

Erm, everything I'm seeing in 2142 and through game-monitor is telling me that the main Conquest server is still offline. Did the server change IPs, or is rebooting still underway?

Log out and log back in. The server browser in 2142 is known not to do an accurate refresh.

I did, and it's still saying it's down. I'm not sure what's up with that...

Ditto for the conquest server. The NS server gives me an "incorrect version" error.

Yup.. It looks like Conquest is still down. They are still bringing servers back on-line. Apparently there was a pretty major hail storm in Virginia that took out power to the datacenter and affected their backup generators.

Still waiting for a detailed description of what occurred, but that's the news I have right now.
