The Most Painfull game

Hello all.

I just wanted to say sorry. I just played a Sunday game as commander from the start on a map. I failed. We lost every flag and all players were killed. It was the worst job I ever did as commander of the group. All squads performed well and followed my directions.
I assume I was just one step behind the US commander the whole time.

So: If you were commanded by StoneFish on -6-17 -2007 from 7:15- 8:00 PM EST You did everything right, It was me that led you all to defeat.

untill a "gg"

Stonefish,

Props for stepping up and Co'ing a round. Don't worry we all have had bad games resulting in a horrible defeat. Atleast you stepped up and filled the role. I am sure the next round will be better.

Re: The Most Painfull game

I have had some games like this as a co. They make me never want to co again :/. Sometimes I ask the squads after the round what happened. Usually they say the other side was just playing better.

I don't know , but I think sometimes a team will beat you, whatever you try it seems. If they are simply outkilling your team on all fronts there is simply not much to do.

I always feel very much like it is my fault when this happens, but that probably isn't really the case.

There is an element of individual skill (being "in the zone" or not). I've lost without a chance, co-ing great players more then once. I've seen plenty of tg- stacked teams get overrun completely by players I mostly don't know, without a co.

There is always a rock/paper/scissors effect. Say you use Santa's 100% defense strategy for Ghost train, but the other team with no commander chooses the all out zerg-attack strategy (standard vanilla strat), the very sturdy the defense will probably crumble (or at least there is a 50/50 chance).

In short, if a commander has a plan, and I see some of it realized on the map, I'd say GJ and thank you for commanding. Do listen very well to squad feedback though. In pr there is so much you don't know as a commander.

Re: The Most Painfull game

Sometimes you get stomped. However, especially on TG, we need new CO's to step up to the plate every night. I've done at least 10 hours of CO'ing in PR, and its a very brave task.

Good job for stepping up. As long as you keep squads on task as best you can and keep assets going, you cant take the blame. So dont worry.
