Beta Discussion

Please post your beta impressions when and if you are testing. Nothing in the NDA says you can't as it's an open beta.

The beta is starting very soon and details can be found here:

Re: Beta Discussion

It needs VOIP built in. That was the thing I was worried about the most for this game.

Other then that it's amazing and we need a TG server the day of release.

I wouldn't know.....yet.

Can't wait to try it out. I think I have a decent shot of getting in being a subscriber to fileplanet. I would love to get some SSs and videos made from the beta.

I'd love to check 'em. Hope we don't have a NDA preventing you from making screenies

Re: Beta Discussion

I forgot to mention I am running the game maxed out without AA and AF at 1600by1200 and at a nice 30FPS.

Re: Beta Discussion

I hope I can do better than 30. Hmm, I missed last night where it said you needed to sign up for the yearly to get in earlier than everyone else, and I accidently signed up for the quaterly. Ugh.

Re: Beta Discussion

I am on an X1800XT that has been OCed to death with 1.5GB of RAM and an Athlon 64 X2 4800+.

The map takes place in Japan. The Strogg is in control of the local sewer system and you have to clear them out.

I can say that the GDF Titan tank is no match against the Strogg walker and tank in a slug fest.

Re: Beta Discussion

I'm assuming I can get a key tomorrow then, since Weds. is technically the middle of the week.

I'm on a 8800GTS 320MB 2GB of ram.

Re: Beta Discussion

I'm going for this beta too, first batch of keys due mid week (eg Wed), a page will appear on fileplanet to apply for your beta key
Half of keys will be fileplanet subscribers and half free fileplanet accounts. I reckon the free ones will be after the subscribers have been given out.

There will be three days that they will be giving away keys to subscribers, gradually increasing the amount they give out each day. Then there will be two days were the keys are given out to the free members. So if all works out well, Wed. - Fri. will be for subscribers, and the weekends will be for free members.

From what I've read, the pace of the game is really fast, consisting of lots of strafing and jumping going on. Bf players are saying it's sometihng that takes a few games to get used to, unless you have a background of W:ET or Quake.

I still can't wait to try it out though.

This is a post on the ETQW forums with some screens and vids up already -->linky<--
