No Internet Connection and non-existent account

When I start up the game and put my account details in: the following messages come up

"No internet connection detected" when the internet is working perfectly outside the game.

"EA account does not exist" and "This EA account cannot be found locally on this machine" When i put in all the correct account details.

I have tried turning of the firewall with no success.

My specs are:
2.4Ghz
1024 RAM
Nvidia GeForce 6200 AGP8x

Any help is most appreciated

That's really strange. It doesn't sound like it's anything with your hardware - more like

a) there is another firewall somewhere
b) something screwy happened with your account on the EA Master Server side.

Let's try the firewall idea first:
When you mention you turned off the firewall, do you mean the Windows firewall, a third party firewall program, or the configuration on your router?

i turned off the windows firewall. I dont have a third party firewall or router.

Yeh, i installed it as administator.

I tried disabling the internet connection but it still came up with non-existant account message.

also, i could not loacte the radial.cdb file where i installed the game.

has anybody else you know of had this problem?

did you have the hidden files unhidden? That would be the problem if you didn't

Are you using any nocd cracks or anything like that to play the game. The only no cd cracks I know of for some reason disable internet connectivity. Also your account profile must be downloaded for the EA master server or it will not be on your machine so if you've never logged in online since your last reinstall it won't be there hence the non-existant account message.
