Insurgency Quick guide....with pics

Okay you started up Insmod and you are lost, well hopefully i can help change that. When you first join up you will see a little menu pop up that has 4 options, 1 for each team, auto assign and spectator. Usually i select auto assign, but that M14 is so nice. After you pick your side, you are given a class/squad menu. Pick which spot you want. Rifleman either get the M4/ak-47. Engineers/Sapper get a shotty, must be a standard for those guys. Grenadier or RPG, will either get a M16/203 or the RPG, which i haven't seen that used right yet. Support gets SAW/ak74. Then Sniper gets either the M14 or some bolt action rifle.

Now if you choose the commander you are in control of your team. You get a nice little menu that looks like this when you press the "G" button ( or what ever you changed it to ).

A normal solder has a menu as well but its only got 2 commands.

You can move your mouse wheel up and down to choose your objective, then click the fire button to choose it. Press your esc button to exit that menu. A defend order looks like this.

An attack order looks like this.

Once you have your objective you can move out to it. Now a few of the weapons have a bi-pod or another secondary fire, like the M203. When you have the support and the USMC sniper rifle you can deploy your bi-pod by pressing you middle mouse button. The machine guns will look like this.

After you get to your objective, a nice little cap bar will pop up and look something along these lines. Each little down arrow you see shows how many of your teammates are on the flag.

After you have captured the objective the CO will give out another order. That is pretty much the basics of the game. Few things you should know, that will help add to the game for you is. Key "X" changes the rate of fire for your gun, i seem to always have mine set on single shot. "H" will drop your guns so don't do that. I changed my action key to "E", my flashlight to "Q" and my VOIP key to "F". Puts all your keys you need right close.

Both sides are given two squads, but you cant use that second squad until you have 9 players, after that you can split up and get the other guns.

By changing Q and E you have no way to lean.

True but i dont ever use lean, really just changed those keys to something more useful.

You can leave out the custom key stuff but overall looks good.

You didn't mention that Leaders, Rocketman, and Sniper get pistols, while grunt riflemen don't.

Nice job Trooper!!

I actually joined a pubbie server yesterday that was being run pretty well..the squad leader was setting waypoints and communicating very clearly. It was very good and alot of fun. When a waypoint is set it actually gives you a visable marker on the field of battle to go to. At least that's what I thought it was.?? LOL

Yeah i think thats kind of odd. Been in a few situations where my pistol has saved me.

Gentleman, is there a way to quick switch weapons? Vs having to use the mouse wheel?

The number keys function as weapon changes too. 1-5.
