1.1 Patch broke something.

I now crash each and everytime I get into a server. Sometimes its when it finally loads up, other times it the moment someone shoots at me.

Guess I'll be AWOL until a hotfix comes out. Seems a few (few) folks on the INS forums are having the same issues.

Hmm, that sucks. Have you tried it after the hotfix that was released right after patch 1.1? The hotfix was a server side patch so maybe it'll have no effect on clients.

I still crash just about every time a server changes maps, before and after patch.

Im not sure if this would make a difference but... I read in the INS forums that they used heavy color correction to make the game look different/better. I was getting horrid FPS before, once I turned it off its run MUCH better. If you havent already maybe give that a try

I'm getting it too. Instead of just the server crashing, my computer does a very hard freeze. No blue screen, no CTRL-ALT-DEL, just a frozen PC with a movable mouse cursor.

When this happens you have recieved an HL2.exe error and you just hit the spacebar to get out of it. Most of the time anyway. Lots of people are recieving hl2 errors because of their gaming styles. They like to play windowed or have a specific setup with their monitor that causes it. I'd suggest going all defaults as much as possible or atleast standards.

Yeah now i get this, loaded the server and BOOM! restart. Gonna try that color correction deal. I played all day yesterday and had no problems.

If your computer restarts, I'd suggest testing your RAM and video card drivers.

i disabled HDR and it runs good now.

Tried turning off HDR and color correction. Still nada. The moment another player points their weapon at me and fires, the impact of the virtual rounds are so extreme that I am hurled out of the server to land squarely back on the Windows desktop.

Nice to know it isn't my self-built PC crashing. Every blue-screen challenges my masculinity, and is a chip at my confidence in my rig.

Well, I'm retarded and didn't read the entire thread of this one. But I'm having the same problem, only sooner. INS quits on me before I can even get to the main menu, and my Start bar is now in the center of my screen. =P
