Daqing Oilfields (July 08,2007) China vs. US *password night*

6th DEVILS squad took the air on Daqing last night, forming a ATK HELO crew in the Chinese Wuzhuang Zhisheng-10 [WZ-10] Helicopter. (In my competitve CAL days, we refered to it as the WIZ, a rather awkward chopper to fly in comparison to the US super cobra).

pilot: |TG-6TH| WAREHOUSE
gunner: =JOO=FU=
ground spotter: Mexy The1AndOnly
commander: (TG someone...)

AAR: After securing the pilot kit and locking the squad, I quickly put our commander to use, requesting attack orders to be placed on all confirmed enemy armor spottings. Upon liftoff, I maneuvered the WIZ in a direct line to intercept all enemy armor leaving the US main base. Upon entering 500m distance to the nearest US flag, I issued gunner to release the first of 2 TV missles (HJ-73 “Red Arrow” anti-tank missile) at the flag, through the fog of war. The first red arrow scored a direct hit on the oilfield flag killing 2 infantry, and alerting my gunner that a Humvee was north of his strike by 20m. His second missle was fired from roughly 400m and missed the target directly, but scored enough splash damage that we picked up the kill upon a strafing run with his main 23mm cannon and my sidearm rockets.
Our line of flight took us directly into US controlled air territory and we got locked on by an enemy anti-aircraft deployment. Fearing the US super cobra, I maneuvered the WIZ in a quick 180 degree swoop, looking for any sign of the enemy chopper. During our maneuver, my gunner spotted the US chopper hovering over its helipad. I proceded to investigate from the east, and confirmed a US attack chopper on the US helipad taking off. I informed my gunner to hold fire on all assets in US main base unless fired upon, but my gunner released a red arrow against my orders, striking a direct hit on the cobra. (I apologized for the attack on main during password night...and still am uncertain as to whether the cobra was taking off or re-arming.)
Upon leaving hostil air space, I retreated the Wiz to the NE where our commander had issued an attack order on 2 US tanks south of gas station. My gunner fired a shot from 450m and destroyed a tank, followed by a second missle destroying an APC hiding behind a billboard. An enemy sniper was spotted in the hills along the east edge of the map which we strafed before returning to base for ammunition.
In total, we destroyed 7 confirmed US armor targets. Without recapping all of them, the most notable shots were:
TV guided strike between the large oil cisterns, threading the needle on a US apc.
5 confirmed TV missle strikes on targets from 400+ meters through fog of war.
TV guided hit on moving US black hawk from 200m.
TV guided hit on US anti aircraft, setting up safe air conditions for my chopper to strafe a full US squad off of Old City flag.
Second super cobra kill with support from ground Tungusta mobile AA (ty to blackops nerdsarecool.)
HAT missle destroying my WIZ from long range, partly due to my distraction issuing a strike order on the command screen, our only casualty of the night.

US team was pushed back to one flag, my chopper punished 15 infantry within the base perimeter, and successfully terminated a US attempt to recap west oilfield flag. We strafed the US cobra a 4th time before it could take off, as well as destroying a full black hawk on the helipad with a TV guided strike from well over 400m.

Due to the excellent attack orders given by our commander and ground spotter, our chopper crew kept the control in Chinese hands for the entire map, with my gunner scoring 4th on the overall leaderboard.

It's a shame that I never get to play Daqing. I've only gotten to play it once, but it wasnt really co-ordinated.
