Tactical Wiki Question

The 21st has been working on its Tactical Wiki alot and a question is is there a way to input a music file into the wiki so when the page is opened that it automatically plays. We think this would be a nice touch and wonering if its possible and how to do it?

Re: Tactical Wiki Question

TW is a mediawiki backend. I've been unable to query google on how one would make what you want to happen happen.

Re: Tactical Wiki Question

I know of a couple of mediawiki extensions that allow playback of embedded media but most of them seem to only operate on demand (user must click on it) and I am not sure if they are supported by the vbWiki Pro vBulletin Addon (how we hook into mediawiki from the forums) or whether extensions would be allowed by TG.

Re: Tactical Wiki Question

Yes I can say I have queried everything from Yahoo, aol, Alta Vista, ask.com and I must say I haven't found any resonably understandable answer. Well I guess this is just gonna have to be a cold case file :-)

Re: Tactical Wiki Question

Maybe you could set up a website and the link for your wiki could point to that.

Re: Tactical Wiki Question

I expect you're having trouble finding such a feature because it is incredibly annoying. If I'm listening to my music I don't want to have music forced on me when I visit a web page.

Automatically playing media on a web page when it is not specifically requested (e.g., YouTube) is a sure fire way to lose visitors.
