Unhappy VAL (Vista Anti Lag) Help A Lad

Well I have Vista Home Premium 32bit and I of course get the 60 second lag spikes. Extremely annoying considering I am a pilot in Project Reality.

I downloaded this VAL program, installed it... I open it up,press ACTIVATE VAL,and it activates and says it found 1 WLAN thingy. Well Cool no problems! But I still get the 60 second lag spikes!! Am I not doing something right? Am I supposed to open it up in-game? Am I supposed to do disconnect then enable it then reconnect??

These lag spikes are VERY annoying and make it NEAR impossible to play!! Please help me!

Fishing, what kind of ethernet card and such do you have? I found that with my card, i have to keep the drivers out of date (i.e. not the newest drivers) in order for VAL to work.

How do I find out? :P I am not a computer whiz,hehe.

Oh and Ferris, that quote in your signature,it is from Ultraviolet right? Shouldn't "Sir" be "Ma'am"? Just wondering :P

Saw that movie two days ago,not bad.

I used to have that problem, but I found out it was my router. The two things you need to do is update your network card drives and update your router firmware. I'm not a vista user, but I suspect if you type 'device manager' into the search field when you hit the Windows button it'll come up...and check the manufacturer's website of your router for an update.

Jimbo, with vista, its the exact opposite. Trust me.
To find out what kind of NIC you have, right click on computer, select properties, then select "device manager" on the left side. On the list you'll see Network Adapters. Expand that and tell me what you see there.

And the quote is actually from The Fifth Element, said by Bruce Willis as the cops are looking for him in his apartment.

Ok. Here we go.

Linksys Compact Wireless-G USB Adapter

And yes I remember that now. Watched that video about 1 day before I watched Ultraviolet :P

Thats the same adapter i've got. You need to have driver version 1.0.4.0 (date 1/12/06). Anything later than that will keep VAL from working for some reason. Give it a shot and let me know.

Look at the file's properties. You might be able to find a date and version number in Device Manager under properties.
